Don't get me wrong, stock screens are comfortable but they're all samey. It really grinds my gears when an user posts his stock screen for the nth time asking for rates. The rating never changes - it's not bad, it's not unique - it's stock. But the icing on the cake is when they shun others for taking their time to design their own homescreen.
A nice analogy would be custom browser homepages. There will always be someone using Opera's speed dial trying to boost his ego with minimal effort but the reality is that they don't really care as much about something so preciously autistic as designing your landing screen.
So no, stock screens aren't bad. But they'll always be just stock.

Tru, that's why i never ask for rates. Sometimes i give them but on mobile its tedious. I see these threads more as just a gallery of different homescreens. I get cool ideas from all kinds of homescreens that i sometimes implement on my phone.
But there's always some guy telling me my rates aren't worth shit cuz my screen isn't filled with widgets hand tuned in what is basically Rainmeter for Android.
