Install a dark theme

>install a dark theme
>only works on half of all programs
>everything looks like shit
>nigh unreadable

Who else fell for the Linux meme?

Here's where you went wrong. Linux is a mishmash of loads of different parts smashed together that kind of work.
Leave it as it is.

Use a light theme you fucking tryhard edgy nigger.

XD dark like my soul themes are so cool!

I only found this to be a problem with search bars in firefox, but I was quickly able to find a fix for it.

Stop trying to use dark themes on fucking XFCE of all things, it just doesn't work. Even KDE is better for this shit.

Just use KDE, idiot

Blame software devs for not sticking with one GUI toolkit.

>use a dark theme
>every other website is white
>every alt tab literally hurts the eyes
>use an addon that inverts colors of a website and "forces" a dark mode
>opening a new page always starts blank white and after a few milliseconds it turns dark
Dark themes are a meme. I only use them on software where I know I won't be alt tabbing away frequently.

>y-you are using it wrong!
>d-dont talk shit about my kernel/operating system!

Install Gentoo and append these flags to your USE.

gtk gtk3 -gtk2 -qt4 -qt5

Then enable global dark theme with Tweak Tool and run:

emerge -uND @world

>set system language to your obscure native language
>everything is still partly in english
Happens with newest Androids too.
>some command line utilities can't be used because writing 'yes'-word requires letter Ä and you have the wrong keymap

Well? Which distro and which DE it was? I'm sure this is a big deal to you OP, so you didn't bother to mention it in the first place.

I've never had this problem using Xfce. I use Arc-Dark and Greybird.

>use official dark theme
>only works on a fraction of the OS built in programs

Linux is a kernel.

>install macOS Mojave
>select 'dark theme'
>it just works
>proceed to open terminal
kek @ linux poorfags

just use english? it's not as if english was overly hard to understand

>Not change firefox css to have loading screens dark grey
>suffer

Unironically this, OP is a retard for blaming Linux. He's just as retarded as somebody blaming Apple because they can't run .exe programs on their Mac.

macOS has this 'feature' now too. Hopefully, since its developers actually getting paid, they'll update their programs to respect it eventually.
The big problem is still going to be webpages; I wonder if there's going to be a way for websites to detect a light or dark system theme and react accordingly.

Literally do not have this problem. All I did was install a GTK theme and tell qt to use it too.

>post this
>go back to catalog
>suddenly theme's dark
freaked me out for a sec tbqh
