Problem is phones aren't like PCs. If you're a Linux user on PC, you're (more or less) 100% in the same hardware family as Windows users. You don't need vendors producing hardware specifically to play nice with your flavor of Linux. Phones are much more awkward to support by contrast. More of a PITA to develop an OS for them, much more painful to switch OSes on them, all that good stuff. So basically, unless you can convince someone to ship a phone with an OS with no market share and no app support, you're in trouble. Even Microsoft couldn't convince people to adopt their mobile OS in any noteworthy way. What hope does a Linux distro have when most of its market is happy with riced Android anyway?
