LGA 1156

no need to update

4790 on my gayming pc, everything else is done on my homeserver's VM's. Give me a reason to change.

It's because I finally got a normie life, one with wife and kids

I'm still using an amd FX chip
it's not only because I'm cheap (read:poor) but because there is literally no reason to upgrade

got a 7700k like a year ago. before upgrading I was on an FX 8150.

not planning to upgrade in the next few years.

Intel i5 (LGA 1136) I wondered in a dead end and I'm too poor to upgrade both the MB and the CPU at once

OP here. Forgot my own specs. 4770K with DDR3 1600 (I fell for the memory speed does not matter meme). Overclocked to 2200Mhz and the CPU @ 4.5Ghz (I could possibly go higher if I locked it but I prefer to let it idle at lower clocks and power save). I also have a Vega 56 on 64 firmware tweaked up.
I am waiting to see what Zeb 2 delivers (and prices for memory etc) before deciding if it is worth the upgrade or not.

am2+ and yes

rebranding your entire portofolio means newer tech

do you have a version of this picture without the caption at the top?

4690k and 980ti

i see no reason to upgrade

my 750ti is in the mail, yes im poor, i had to take out a govt loan to buy this.

Xeon E3-1231v3 / Win7 ...

core2 duo - gforce 7300 SE

i see no reason to upgrade

this. two cores are more than enough.

Samsung Galaxy S4, and I will continue to use it until it breaks.

i7 2600k (stock clock)
Nvidia 660

I’ll upgrade when something breaks

i7-7700K
Got it for free, but I was fine with my 2500K too.

FX4100
7870 (OC)

yes I'm pretty poor, but a ryzen build soonish

Main PC: i7 3770, GTX 680
HTPC: 3770S, GTX 670
Laptop: 3740M, GTX 660M
Have yet to see a compelling reason to upgrade.

>Ivy4lyfe

FX - 8320
GTX - 750 Ti

altho i bought a RX 580 like 2 weeks ago

Same. It was for (((gaming))) in 2012 and now I don't really play steam games often. It's still a great emulation system, but I still debate myself on getting rid of it. Nobody would buy it though. Unless I sell parts separately and even still.

FX-8370
Main reason is I'm doing GPU passthrough and FX is a mature platform with most bugs ironed out.
The original Zen was pretty much a public beta test, and buying Zen+ makes no sense because Zen2 will be a much bigger upgrade next year. I'm thinking about waiting for the 7nm Threadripper and if it doesn't have crippling bugs I'll get the best one.
The reason I did not go with Intel is because feature support across SKUs is a complete clusterfuck and I'd have had to do some really weird choices.

4670K @ 4.2GHz
RX 560 4GB
I wish it had VT-d support. I'd just switch to Linux and run Windows in a VM

>because you are poor?

Sounds about right.

>Is it because you are poor?
Yep.
B250
i3-6100
HD7850

A.) It is because there's no mainstream killer app that makes woefully inadequate

B.) They grew out of the whole 1337 overclocking meme-tier shit and move onto other interests

C.) They are burdened with real-world responsibilities a.k.a not living with their folks for free.

where my ivy bridge niggas at

I don't have a reason to upgrade from my 4670K. More cores and the new features offered I don't need atm. Also the performance gains are awful.

i5 3570k
it aint broke yet

4930K here

Attached: cans.png (704x884, 680K)

lga 1366 with 6 core high end xeon overclocked here.
Its werks.

I'm curious. Would a 4770K bottleneck a RTX 2080 Ti @ 1440P? Not that I would buy such a thing of course.

Because my i7 2600k wont just fucking die

>several generations behind technology?
sorry to let you know but i havent bought an intel chip since pentium 3
i do have a haswell rig though, but i paid $0 for it

Probably yes. The 2080 Ti is such a beast, it would have absolutely no problem with spewing out so many frames at 1440p that the 4770K couldn't handle it.

now try one with the monster energy drink

i5-4440s and GTX750ti (since 2015)
yes, I'm poor
planning on getting a zen2 next year hopefully

If using a 14c/28t Xeon E5 v3 with a Radeon Pro Duo counts as several generations behind then yes
And just because it actually performs better than current gen...

2500k
yes

i5-3450
>are you poor?
Yes. but mostly because it already fill my need. I just use it for shitposting on Jow Forums and watching chinese cartoon.

>How many of you are using several generations behind technology?
Haswel Core i3

>Is it because you are poor?
Yes. But I am saving up for when Matisse lands next year.

Using a 2500k with 6gb of ram, 1gb vram GPU, and ssd. It has never struck me as slow because I am able to maintain my own device and don't play the latest AAA games.

phenom X3
onboard gpu
2gb ddr3 1300mhz
320gb sata II hdd
768p lcd monitor

I see no reason to upgrade

I have AM3+ desktop from 6 years ago, but I am using laptop, because it is more silent. I was thinking about buying that 212 Evo cooler, which would fix the loud stock CPU fan, but I don't like so many fans in desktop, because room seems to become difficult to breathe in. I don't know, whether it's heat or something else.

i5 6600K
GTX 1050
16 GB wam
128 GB SSD + 500 gigs HDD
the only thing I'm thinking of upgrading is my GPU

i5 2320, 8GB RAM, 250GB SSD and 1GB GTX 560Ti and basically this

like 8 generations behind

Attached: cpuz.png (417x414, 61K)

Xeon E5-1620 in my workstation.
Xeon E5-2660 in my server.
I7-6600U in my laptop.

Another fx user here. Not exactly poor (I could afford a six core ryzen system), but I can't justify a new setup since my current rig holds up everything I do just fine, specially since I bought a rx480 for in on impulse.
