But VMs don't have hardware acceleration when running darwin/XNU/BSD/cocoa operating systems.

>tfw have no macbook
If i follow this guide, will i be able to write osx to my usb, for hackintoshing my main computer?

Or is there a less retarded way to go about these things? I'm on windows.

Utterly worthless unless you do a GPU passthrough.

Why? Just hackintosh, then you'll also have hardware acceleration, which is quite important for macOS since not only the compositor relies on it, but also pretty much everything useful you can do with it, like iOS development.

This is the cleanest install with everything being either directly from Apple or open-source. For a hackintosh you'll still need to play around with configuration files and kernel extensions and bootloaders.

I guess the next step for this is a hypervisor with full hardware acceleration.

Can I do this with a KVM then GPU passthrough?

Because I don't have a macbook, and i don't want to download chinese macos DMG/iso files filled with malware.

I'm using VMWare player to run it...
Why should I use virtualbox?

Yea it runs laggy but I need it for debugging and xcode.

>Why should I use virtualbox?
Because you're probably running a modified macOS installation and someone might be exfiltrating your data.
This VBox install uses unmodified Apple files and open-source software.

because I already have it installed in VMWare, time to upgrade I guess. Also enjoy downloading your pajeet tier dmg.

>pajeet tier dmg
It's directly from Apple.

I wish I knew about this before making the guide:

Could have been a fully-automated install.

yeah I noticed that after checking the pastebin, still shit to use virtualbox instead of vmware.

VirtualBox is free everywhere and free software.
VMWare is sometimes-free and sometimes-free-software.

Just update the guide?

I'm turning it into a semi-automatic script now that I can just pipe commands into the guest

>#NOT A SCRIPT
Make a script you fuck

>no sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /
Disappoint.

Who the fuck types this slow.

I'm literally going to do that tomorrow when I get the time I didn't know I could send keycodes from the host to the guest. Now I know. No more copy-pasting.

macos is for faggots
