Hey Jow Forumsuys, I'm planning on ditching systemd and moving on to a better distro like pic related. Would you recommend using it? If not what are some alternatives (other than gentoo)?
Hey Jow Forumsuys, I'm planning on ditching systemd and moving on to a better distro like pic related...
i went arch -> manjaro -> arch nosystemd -> artix
artix is pretty lowkey
Moves slower than Debian Stable
You can try testing, but it's less stable than Debian testing of course
Also, to add you can run debian with SysV, however there are some software installed that still call for systemd
Try it!
Use artix feller, its lowkey unironically the comfiest non sux D around
Any *BSD besides FreeBSD is pretty good mate.
funtoo
systemd is baaaaaaad
Devuan isn't bad if you're already used to Debian
Void is very lightweight and user friendly
Slackware is tried and true despite what faggots will say about it
Gentoo is a great distro
and this guy's suggestion is great as well
Cool thanks
Been using Devuan for two years, it just werx. If you like Debian but hate System Dee then install it.
I did the jump two weeks ago. The most annoying thing was to find a blue-coloured theme, as they like aubergine a lot in devuan.
Otherwise, it's working nicely, nothing to say against it.
nigger
also use it with cinnamon. xfce is far from eye candy on devuan
install slackware
I really like Devuan and would suggest it totally
I also suggest slackware
Slackware was my gateway distro. I should go back.
Gentoo.
It's really not that hard to setup once you've done it a few times. Just gotta make sure you account for all your hardware when configuring the kernel.
I was using Devuan for a while, it's pretty much Debian Stable, which is not everyone's cup of tee, since it's a bit outdated, specially if you're using KDE
if you go with XFCE, I'm sure you won't notice the difference
Install the fucking Solaris already
I've been groovin' on MX for a bit now. Solid.
I switched to void to get away from systemd, haven't looked back.
