That's because when a business repairs their own product they have to provide a warranty on that repair in most jurisdictions. And given people who are able to damage an Apple product through water or some other shenanigan is a certified moron, Apple does not want to accept the liability of having to provide a free second, third and fourth repair to that idiot. It really is just easier to let them buy a new one.

I have used Apple computers and own a 2006 iMac (I prefer Steve Jobs era Macs). Its more of a collectors item than something I use everyday. For that, I have a AMD Ryzen computer running Solus Gnome (I did used to have Windows 10 on a laptop as well). TL;DR: I understand why Louis Rossman complains about Macs.
