24" 1080p 144hz

>24" 1080p 144hz
>27" 1080p 144hz
>27" 1440p 60hz

What's the best value here for a home/gaming computer? Budget more or so allows for 24" option. Will 27" 1080p be regrettable?

27" 1080p means less pixel density so it'll actually look less sharp compared to the 24" one
Compare watching a 480p vid on your phone to your desktop, it'll look better on your phone

27" 1080p is fine as long as you sit further back from the monitor than you would with a smaller screen (which you should be doing anyway).

27" 1440p 144hz is the best option

1080p is shit on anything over 24" and 60hz is jarring to use.

1440p 96Hz
I got one 3 years ago for $300. Its even IPS, and has extremely low input lag

> Will 27" 1080p be regrettable?
Yes. 1440p should be the best option. Maybe you'll find something bit higher than 60 Hz.

I agree with this guy.

24" 1080p 60Hz

this

I pushed my 24" up to my keyboard prior to my 27"

27" 1440p only if you don't play FPS because it's simply too much space to keep your eyes on. ideally you want as much of the screen off your peripheral vision so you have to move your eyes, god forbid even your year head, as little as possible. also only if your pc can handle it. 1440p needs WAY more raw power than 1080p.

Super high resolution is a meme since the you have to scale everything any way.

wut
worst res and worst refresh
if anything, 1920x1200@75hz is minimum acceptable

nope, youre fucking dumb

*stereotypical Latino noises* Amigo

goy*

I remember "cs pro"people said the same about 1080p 24". Your eyes have way too wide range of vision for you to even worry about this.

Not when you're so close to the screen that you could hug it which has the advantage that you never miss a pixel changing.

Not an issue at all at 27" and you sitting like a normal human being.

Non gamer here, looking for coding and video watching. If I go 27" 4K IPS, will I miss anything from being on 60Hz?

I'm no expert programmer but I'm not sure how useful high refresh rates are going to be for coding, and AFAIK video is 60fps standard anyway.

27" 1080p has you counting pixels in regular games and way too much screen space to keep track of in competitive FPS. It's shit either way. Go with 27" 1440p for regular gaming or 24" 1080p for fps.

Buy a 60 inch TV for the same cash, faggot.

>video is 60fps
nope, its 24fps

enjoy your literal half second input lag, idiot

i have a $40 video card, and i do FPS at 1440p at 96hz and my frame rate mostly stays above 96fps

if 1440p is too stressful your video card, you must have a sub $40 video card

>Invents reason not to do something
>Calls someone an idiot based upon invented reason

You're special.

What I say is 27" 1440p is perfectly fine non-headturning monitor size for fps gaming. If you play 'competitive' then you'd better off with a 720p 19" monitor with 300fps output.

are you just retarded?

so you are only playing csgo and siege on lowest settings?

>Is unable to articulate themselves and posts links to videos as a substitute for thought
>Is a moron

t. has never dealt with programs with shitty scaling

1080p 24 inch dpi is perfect. It is roughly equivalent to 1440p at 32 inch or 4k at 43 inch

TVs have mass amounts of input lag. Do you have the reading comprehension of a 4 year old?

Stop buying $199 TV's from Aliexpress and maybe you won't have to put up with such issues.

>not using a 49inch DELL ultrasharp

>thinks sony bravias is $200
back to /v/ with you

This.

2560x1600 10inch dpi is perfect

Or he could be playing CS:S and avoid all the kids (or even 1.6)

>1.6 to avoid the kids
jajajajajajajajajaja, no hablo ingles, polla tu mama

Is 144Hz even useful if you're not playing CS:GO and Overwatch?

24" 1440p for me, can be 60hz if it doesnt ghost.

27" 1440p 144hz

OP here.
Based on comments I should add I have a 8gb rx580. I play all genres of games at no competitive level. I know my card won't play at 144hz with max settings but it should still be a better experience. Right? I'm 29 and have never played anything on +60hz.

Get a 24" 1080p 144Hz for gaymen and a 60Hz 27" 1440p IPS for videos and shit. Once you've got the moni/vidya card for it you can swap out the 24" for a 27" 1440p 144Hz.

20inch 1080p 60hz.

60hz is fine until you use 144hz and realize how slow the screen was updating before.
