Are you ready to swallow the red pill and buy a used Macbook Air?

>t. macfag who has never used an X1 Carbon

I like nipples on my women, not my keyboards, user.

>Virgin applelfag doesn't know the difference between a nipple and a clit.

Typical

>*throttles*
nah I'm good

they may have paid for a UNIX certification, but that doesn't make them polished.

>POSIX compliant operating system with actually good command line that looks objectively good, is stable and has amazing third party support
>not polished
What is your definition of polished, user?

I'm too fond of not having the components of my computer desoldering themselves or warping the board until they pop to get a mac.

>buying a used product previously owned by a homosexual
enjoy those semen stains on the keyboard

Thanks, I will.

>>better keyboard than any Thinkpad after T420
but it's going to break in 2 months

>used

>>battery lasts forever
No, the battery will die and you will have to take out 15,000 tiny pentalobe screws to replace it

>tn panel
I will stick with my macbook pro

Is it at least DCI-P3 Macbook Pro?

Actually just 8 for bottom case and probably about the same for the battery which is not glued in.
You can buy a set of screwdrivers that will open every single part of MBA for like 5 bucks on chinkxpress.

Idk its the 2017 one

POSIX is overrated.

If you got the non-Touchbar one for 1299 bucks then you bought the best valued machine in decades.

I did. I paid 1500 though and upgraded to the 256gb storage. I also considered taking it back and getting 16gb of ram but it fucks the value up even more so i decided not to do that.

I have a 2017 Macbook Air and I don't use it. I only use my x220 running riced Arch Linux for everything, the macbook air is now just a backup laptop, I keep it in the box. Sure the thinkpad screen does suck pretty bad, but here's the thing - that only matters when your watching video, and anytime I'm going to be watching video my thinkpads going to be docked into its awesome dock where I can watch video a real screen, so unless you are some major autist who's going to be watching porn and shit on the bus you don't need a super good screen. My screen is good enough for programming, browsing and checking email.

>using a docked laptop as a desktop
Why lol. You should have just got a desktop and 1 laptop instead of 2 laptops

I actually have a desktop too and a KVM switch to switch between them. Most of the time, I don't need to use the desktop, in fact sometimes I'm so fucking lazy I literally RDP into it from my laptop even though I could literally reach out 1 foot and switch over to it on the kvm. I'ts just convenient being able to work on something on my laptop, come up, dock it, and all my programs are still open and windows in the same place.

This.

Sell your Thinkpad and go build a mini-itx Hackintosh.

Fuck no. I honestly don't understand peoples love with OSX. I've only found 2 porgrams that I wish had Linux version (iTerm2 and Karabiner). Everything else I use has a version for linux. And I've had a bad OSX update cause my laptop to go into a bootloop requiring a reinstall before. Maybe once upon a time it was a polished operating system, but recently seems like all of the updates are utter shit. And years ago apple used to have good customer service, but now that has gone to shit. The only thing apple products have going for them is superior screen and battery, which I have to say truly are awesome, but both of these features are completely useless to me.

The X1 Carbon is a really poor example of what the Thinkpad line is all about. Shoddy build quality, sub-par materials, you may as well buy a Mac.

While being practically the only 16:10 laptops on the market makes them tempting, Apple's laptops just have too many flaws. Lack of USB A, shitty keyboards, lack of docks, soldered parts, etc.

It's the closest to a Mac, and beats it by a massive margin.

>actually it's only 16 screws
>defends this
