I installed Manjaro on my ThinkPad and fucking hated it.

The only people that say Manjaro is good are either people who haven’t used any other distro, and don’t know what a good distro is like, or those who haven’t had it catastrophicly shit itself yet. When it does they, like everyone else, will tell you Manjaro is shit.

If you like windows and the simplicity it offers (but you hate using windows), try a major release distro.
If you like exploring linux and are ready to fix problems that can arise more frequently, try a rolling release distro.
Example MR distros:

For your first experience into linux, you should try to pick a distro with a large community, decent repositories, and potentially lots of public documentation so learning and fixing is more easy. Such examples of these I listed. You can try others but you might not get the support you need.
Manjaro is nice because it's relatively stable for a RR distro and it's Arch-based, and Arch has tons of documentation and a great package manager (with pretty big repos).
No one distribution is worse or better than another. Each one is unique and is better or worse per the user and the purpose.
(note that all this advice is for a desktop computer)

I love manjaro OP, it's suuuper stable and has an actually safe and secure rolling release system. It's the most stable and polished diatro I ever used in 15 years of linux. The logo is the best logo out of any distro too!

It's only ok when loading onto a vm. On USB boot however it makes Arch more forgiving despite Manjaro is also pacman based.
