It's horrible. I am a Dashchan fag but the slav nigger who made it fucked up the captcha in the latest update so now it takes like two minutes to load and you only have a small chance it'll even work, so I got clover to actually be able to post at all. It has some nice stuff Dashchan doesn't have, but it also lacks nice stuff Dashchan has, and it's much harder to get used to the lack of it than to appreciate the new features.

If I'm at the end of a thread, leave, come back when there are new posts, and tap on "view" on the notification thingy, it won't scroll at all because 0.001mm of a new post is already visible. No, if I tap on "view" that's because I want to view the new posts, and 95% of the time I already caught up to the thread before so the old posts are irrelevant, so please scroll the new posts up to the top of the screen.

Maybe it's just me being retarded, but I can't find this anywhere. If I were to make a post or thread on my PC and then wanted to keep track of it in clover, I would not be able to get any (You) notifications at all.

While I appreciate the free renaming feature, 90% of the time I don't need a specific filename, and if it's set to something retarded I want it to be non-retarded. The easiest way to do that is just set it to the timestamp, just like it will be when somebody downloads it, and that's very tedious to do by hand.

Dashchan puts your "favourite" boards in the same tray as your watched threads, which is super handy. Here, I have to first go back to the catalog, then open the drop-down menu, and only then I can select the board I want.

Minor complaints probably because I'm just too used to Dashchan, but I love how there the "X replies" is clickable across the whole width, which may not be intuitive at first but it basically never gets in the way if you don't intentionally use it, and if you do, it's super handy not to have to actually aim at the left adjusted text.
Also I love long-pressing on posts to open up the menu, and double-tapping to select text, but I'll probably get used to Clover's dots menu and long-pressing to select text eventually.

Less of a persistent annoyance than everything else, but I don't see an option to archive a thread. I actually use that every now and then in Dashchan, and then it also has a local viewer so I can go back and read threads I saved.

That's all I can think of right now, there may or may not be more. Honestly if these were fixed I'd switch to Clover completely, because the notifications are dope and some other stuff is neat too. But as it stands, it's highly painful to me.

I know you can click the "loading in X", but the "pull down to refresh" is implemented at the top of threads for some reason, while most often I'll be refreshing from the bottom. Also probably a minor inconvenience stemming from my Dashchan muscle memory.
That said when you're typing the UI doesn't move up above your keyboard so you can't refresh manually. You have to close out of your keyboard to be able to tap the thing that refreshes it.

To be fair neither can Dashchan, and it annoys me to no end. Maybe the Jow Forums API doesn't support it it something, but the website definitely shows the page a thread is on in the info block, so idk. It's extremely useful to know when a thread is about to die.

NOPE! Got a couple more. I'm making this my master list of what features Clover is missing to make it a direct upgrade from Dashchan, because really I want to like it, but when it improves some areas but downgrades others quite a bit I just can't make the switch. Anyway:

Because clicking on "report" literally just loads the Jow Forums page in a webview, the captcha is a standard Google recaptcha that takes a billion tries to solve. If there's one thing where Dashchan fucking destroys Clover into the ground, it's its actually well made captchas (when they're working that is of course).

This stems back from the way it just leaves selecting text to the standard android method of long-pressing, but the thing is 99% of the time I want to quote somebody's sentence or paragraph, and Dashchan's double tap selection automatically does that for you in a super handy way.

Sure, the built-in advanced Dashchan search helps, but it's not as surgical as the ones on the websites. Otherwise, they work the same as your average imageboard.

4chanx noscript captcha was broken for me so I basically moved full-time to Dashchan. The alternative is 10 minutes of slowly fading cars, "Sorry, try again", about 5-10 screens of street signs, "Sorry, try again", rinse and repeat.
