you can but why would you, that level of VMs is purely for learning.

ESXI bare metal running one instance of linux and windows

As with most things: It depends. What do you want to do with it?

winception

Windows VM in a Linux host is best.

Linux runs like hot garbage as VM in Windows. Only reason I put up with it is for the sandbox. Its terrible otherwise.

I always run windows in a vm. I call it my pet windows.

andddd what are you going to use to connect to the VMs?

>not cattle

Not him but google VMRC. He can also just casually RDP into the Windows guest.

WSL on Windows 10

Pls tell me the virtual disks sit on remote all flash storage attached via FC with multipathing for failover/load balancing.

Yeah and where are you going to run your remote console you retard

This means you'd either have a host OS running ESXi which is then again running two VM's, or you need a second device running Winblows or Noobuntu, literally defeating the whole purpose of this thread

linux in a windows vm takes away the point of a vm

Not using Windows at all.

VM implementation on linux is better. So Windows guest on Linux host is preffered.

this

yeah just get Windows 10 and install Linux from the app store

Hey, calm your tits. It's not my fault that you are too much of a brainlet to understand why people would build a setup like this. He answered OP's question. With the ESX setup he runs Linux inside Linux and Windows inside Linux at the same time. He could also go deeper and do nested installs. In the end it doesn't matter what you use to connect to the machines. He is doing everything within the virtual environment. So it's not defeating the purpose of this thread in any way, mouth breather. Now go back to your vidya.

Linux vm in a Windows host. Windows is a much more resource hungry slut than Linux, so it performs worse in a VM.

Buy can't Windows still see all your shit?

We use Linux in sever 2016 vm running on Unix core.
