I'm not weirdo

Installed 9front, TOS, and Solaris but I never used any of them seriously because it requires learning completely different workflows. It;s been a while since I installed Solaris and I feel a bit more comfortable with UNIX.

Forgot Haiku, which is pretty easy to use for a newbie compared to the others.

Being the contrarians/hipsters that they are, I'm betting there's loads of people who used those solely because they're not popular

i installed haiku for a laugh and then i realized it's useless and deleted the partition
templeos is my daily driver

Haiku is unironically becoming good. It is our only hope if loonix goes to shit.

Guix is just a more meme gentoo.

NixOS is actually a good distro.

9front is literally a meme. Would be cool on a server though.

Solaris is dead, but openindiana exists. Idk what to say about it.

>>GuixOS
No
>>TempleOS
Love Terry but FUCK NO
>>Haiku
Better than BeOS except for those pesky driver issues - find hw it works on and pray it never fails
>>NixOS
Nah
Front
for a giggle, but no.
>>Oracle Solaris
opensolaris in production (cheap) - it is gnome and aside from slices it works just like a unix distro Haven't tried openindiana yet.

I'm running 9front on my Thinkpad right now

9front is definitely _not_ a meme OS. I use it unironically every day for my job (programmer) and on my personal machines

What hardware are y'all running it on? Tried using it on my T60 except audio didn't work and there wasn't support for vmx.

Native on Thinkpad X220, kvm/qemu with drawterm on everything else

>9front
T60 should work fine, I had a T60p and everything seemed to work fine on it.

I think there's some recent commits that address some bugs in the T60 stuff, but I haven't watched it very closely recently.

Also, hostile takeover thread

*notes that inferno hasn’t been updated since March 28th, 2015*

Your move

We tossed the front off inferno and forked it, code.9front.org/hg/purgatorio/

>>Oracle Solaris
>>Oracle
It's called illumos you faggot. It works pretty nicely.

*notes that this code is hosted on 9front’s repo site*

9front >>>>> inferno?

inferno proper is pretty dead, but they're very different projects

T420i, everything works perfectly out of the box

x61 with working wifi, x1 carbon with just ethernet. Could put a supported wifi card in if desired. Everything works pretty much out of the box.

9front is cool but too bad the entire plan 9 community is shit

>Haiku
Isn’t elementary based on haiku?

>X is just a more meme Y
>X is literally a meme
What did he mean by this?

GuixSD needs better documentation.

even the 9fans discord? i'd say it's much less obtrusive than say, #cat-v

the public grid is pretty fun, too

I use 9front on my Thinkpad. The simplicity makes everything else look like bloated shit. I wish there was a way to shitpost on it though.

>discord
You can't be serious

VNC to VPS :)

there's a matrix room floating around, too

Is there a XMPP MUC?
what's that

It's GuixSD and literally no other distro is relevant anymore.
Best thing that ever happened to my computer.
Step up faggots.

#9fans:horsein.space

doesnt allow system wide build specifications like gentoo though
