I don't get how people buy motherboards with shitty VRMs and still show them off
They are appalling

I waiting for my h500 case and waiting for Zen 2 for that multi/single core performance goodness.
>CPU cooler installed the wrong way >implying >Shit tier PSU Made by Seasonic you idiot. >Fucked up cables This is the fucked up cables, but temps still good if you ask me.
Yeah I regret buying Asus motherboard. I have to run my ryzen 1700 at stock because the VRM goes to 115C if I just bump all core clock speed to 3,7GHz
Just you wait until Zen 2 and I will buy tip top tier MSI motherboard instead. I'm not gonna buy an X470 now because there might be new features for X570 and improved turbo technology
Have you watched Hardware Unboxed's motherboard reviews lately? Even the flagship Asus motherboards have half the VRM phase count than the competitors' midrange offerings
Owen Lopez
Especially when they put an unlocked 6 core i7 on it. a lot of the Strix ones are good. But the "TUF" which itself is only a prime with shit yellow highlights, has absolutely no business being a Z370 chipset.

How does audio on higher end motherboards compare to a $100-200 headphone Amp/DAC

>Yeah I regret buying Asus motherboard. I have to run my ryzen 1700 at stock because the VRM goes to 115C if I just bump all core clock speed to 3,7GHz Depends entirely which Asus board you got. They make some fantastic AM4 boards, but like others, also make some absolute crap. >Just you wait until Zen 2 and I will buy tip top tier MSI motherboard instead Hopefully by then they've figured out voltage offset, otherwise it's a miss from me. Literally the only thing missing on their sub $100 B450s is offset.

>top two clips face the GPU, middle two face the opposite direction >left clip on the middle isn't at the same length as the right clip what the fuck man, sleeve the GPU cables the way you did your 24 pin one above it.

Noctua fans are the worst I've ever used. Sure they're quiet but do you know why they are? They move almost no air at all.
Yes I've tried different types of Noctua Fans. Airflow optimised, pressure optimised etc.
They're all shit. Just buy yourself some Corsair ML Fans. They're great
Brody Gomez
Well i tried.

>Have you watched Hardware Unboxed's motherboard reviews lately? Even the flagship Asus motherboards have half the VRM phase count than the competitors' midrange offerings
Yes, I did. Yes, they are 4 phases, that's irrefutable. Do they suck at that price point? A lot. Does the VRM suck in general? Mostly not, other than the disadvantages of it being a 4 phase. Nevertheless, I personally would not get them, unless they went really cheap.
However, alternative options may not be so bad(at a price/VRM ratio). The Z390 Strix-F/E have highly similar VRMs to the Maximus, except with slightly worse capacitors, and powerstages from ON Semi that is rated 5A lower than the Vishay SiC639. Nevertheless, unless this motherboard is priced similarly to an Aorus Elite(e.g. during a sale), I will still not consider it--it's still a doubled 4 phase after all. However, if the price point is similar, I may be tempted to get the one with superior UEFI implementation.
I regard Asus entry level motherboards (including TUF gaming, which really have VRMs copy-pasted from their cheapest boards) as untouchable. Their VRMs are really bad. IIRC buildzoid tried to use a basic red themed Asus B350 board to overclock and the thermals went haywire.
>a lot of the Strix ones are good Well, that's true for the Z390(4 phase warning), X299, X399, X370 and X470 boards. There are still boards with enthusiast chipsets that suck, such as the Z370 Strix series (look at buildzoid's video on the Z370-G, low side MOSFETs (SiRA12) are literally High Rds(On), the E and F ATX boards use the same VRM design), which have poor MOSFETs and improperly doubled 4 phase design. Buildzoid lamented that the Strix series was too 'watered down', which I agree with the Z370 series.
Of course, lets not talk about B350, B450, H370 e.t.c. Their VRMs are terrible but that's expected.

So does everyone keep their PC in another room or something? Can't tell you the number of times I've left my PC on overnight for backups, large file downloads, encoding, or rendering. If I had half the gay pride parade worth of RGB lights in my PC with a window you guys have, I'd be driven insane having that shit light up my room.

>So does everyone keep their PC in another room or something? I have an office specifically for my pc. The setup itself has grown quite large as of late...
I need to order a new mobo soon so I can start overclocking the 7700k and be able to install the NH-D15 cause it won't fit on this board without hitting the GPU. Probably get a new case while I'm at it as well.

Using the same power supply, hard drive, mouse, keyboard from my original PC purchase some 7 years ago. Dual monitor setup, the hummer equivalent of mouse mats accompanied by mechanical keyboard + old school razer deathadder. Very attractive looking PSU Your PC looks diseased, clean it out you lazy git. very clean, however case looks like shit in my opinion.

Question, is this CPU/GPU combo potentially bottlenecked? I bought the CPU before the second Gen Ryzen came out but I got the GPU around the RX580s were getting big. Games and shit run phenomenal on it, I just wonder if I'm missing out on anything since I was actually new to the build game.
