AdBlocking on mobile

This is a little guide for those of you who wish to not see ads on mobile devices.

Note: this does not work for iPhones

From the Play Store search for Blokada. It looks like pic related. Once it is installed see the followup picture for the correct configuration.

Other urls found in this thread:

github.com/blokadaorg/blokada
twitter.com/AnonBabble

Turn on Keepalive and Start on boot. From the DNS configuration select Adguard. Whitelisting is optional and up to you.

Now you're all set!

go shill your faggy jew botnet somewhere else
just use adaway from f-droid

Attached: 1541878556026.jpg (572x714, 34K)

This. Blokada is absolute garbage.

while I'd agree, this does help out people that can't root for whatever reason, and it's also available on F-Droid so no worries

Normalfags aren't going to do that. We're trying to screw Hiro out of as much ad money as possible and this is the easiest way for your average user.

Example

Off

On

Don't download from the play store

The one from the play store is stripped down but can still block ads just fine. This is purely for people who want something quick and convenient.

>blokada is active
keck'd

Does this block ads only in browsers or can it block ads in any app, like the official youtube app or any random F2P gacha shit?

>official YouTube app
No

>Gacha shit
Yes. Most ad ridden apps this solution will work for.

What the fucking fuck are you talking about?
github.com/blokadaorg/blokada

>AdBlocking on mobile

just use brave or opera.

>brave
>opera
Botnet

This blocks ads outside the browser.

I am using uBlock origin and uMatrix on mobile too, they works
I am not downloading your shitty app

>INSTALL MY CRAPWARE, GOY!

Fuck off, OP. We already know how to install AdAway, and uBlock Origin on Mobile Firefox.

>We already know how to install AdAway, and uBlock Origin on Mobile Firefox
>We
99% of mobile retards on this website complain about seeing ads. Phone ads are incentivizinv Hiro to ruin this website, put 2 and 2 together moron.

See

What about clover? That shit has no ads, or?

clover doesn't have adds

But the point is to block ads system wide so other apps don't have adds or trackers. Which blokada or adway does. Why can't people understand this?

Why doesn't it show a list of blocked content? Instead there is just this stupid "X ads blocked" number on the menu
It's a good adblocker app but honestly the ui sucks, and the popup about donating is really annoying too

Here's a non-retarded guide

-Download AdAway

I've only seen the popup if I open the app after it updates. There's no reason to even open the app unless you're trying to turn it on or off. Which I do very rarely

yeah, still some logs would be welcome

>Why doesn't it show a list of blocked content?
Not sure what you mean but it shows the last ad or tracker that was blocked. You want a list of all ads ever that were blocked?

Not everyone can or wants to root their phone.

Attached: 1.jpg (1080x510, 54K)

>Not sure what you mean but it shows the last ad or tracker that was blocked
Exactly, that's the problem, there should be a way to see all the blocked content, with time, date and the app where the ad has been blocked

>brave
>Botnet
Why is brave a botnet?

>and the app where the ad has been blocke
Nevermind I just remembered this is probably not doable since it's using dns blocking

Firefox+Ublock Origin works fine.

I use that too. But what about other apps?

Clover doesn't have adds.

Or just use clover ffs

That's the only 2 you use?

See

...

don't use playstore blokada, it doesn't provide adblocking functionality (aside from DNS)
use the f-droid one instead

>aside from DNS
DNS adblocking is still adblocking, same concept as a pihole

Can the client source prove the servers have no logs? No.

You can't prove thats the same source as the apk. F-Droid explicitly checks it does.

Firefox / ublock origin extension on mobile just works.

>implying clover will even work after this channel shit goes live

Been using this for a while but just like everything else non-root it can't block ads built against API 25+

Attached: tumblr_m4of71Wx4U1r2o142o1_500.jpg.png (500x750, 183K)

i just use firefox and Ublock origin

The version on the Play store is a gimped one to comply with Google's rules

yrdy

>not using brave
>not using firefox with addons installed
OP is gay

This.
Plus Newpipe

Install DNS66

>not using bromite

Attached: 1509097326911.jpg (250x250, 24K)

It asked me to accept VPN, what gives?

just switched from adguard to this cause adguard shits the bed all the time since the last update.
I also like that dns66 lets you add your own lists

After installing it, it asked to to allow Blokada to access to my network and VPN, what gives?

>not using adaway

Attached: 1541778213733.jpg (1402x736, 541K)

>You can't prove thats the same source as the apk. F-Droid explicitly checks it does.
So just use the version from F-Droid, as you should.
>Can the client source prove the servers have no logs? No.
Uh, what servers? VPN is created locally. And this is a moot point in other cases as well, especially given how hard is to prove something like this and how few decentralized servers of anything exist.

This.

>iPhone
AdGuard works.

>don't use playstore blokada
Yes, download the malware from F-Droid.

Both are open source and on F-Droid.
Adblock for Android is just a browser.
Blokada is system wide.

You're argument, cock goggling freetard?

Or just AdAway and Afwall+. AdAway fixes ads in anything that has internet access, Afwall+ blocks them from even accessing the internet.

>last update was 1 year ago
This is the reason why I switched to blokada, DNS66 is a dead project.

as long as the lists are working

>don't use playstore blokada
>Yes, download the malware from F-Droid.
>malware
>F-Droid
Are you literally retarded?

t. google employee

Hosts-based blockers suck major dick, especially on mobile where the lists do not block mobile-specific hostsnames.

Not even that's the case. I remember that one of the default lists stopped working long ago.

>I remember that one of the default lists stopped working long ago.
you mean pollocks? just delet and add again.

>implying I want and have time to manage lists by my own
No thanks bro, outsourcing exists for a reason.

quality commits lmao

>ublock in browser
>only use browser

Is there any way to block content
I'd rather watch ads than this shit especially on g news

Attached: Screenshot_20181118-191005.png (1080x1920, 556K)

YOU CAN SET UP ADGUARD DNS IN YOUR ANDROID OR ROUTER.
No need for a freaking app.
There's an android app for literally every single stupid shit you can do with your fingers on android, it's ridiculous.

Losers without rooted phones deserve ads

Attached: Berserker.Kiyohime.full.2108939.jpg (450x450, 193K)

When using adgaurds dns can I add my own custom filter lists?
I use unbound on my router but people arent always on their home network when using a MOBILE device.

>my own custom
stfu faggot

So that's a no? Ok then.

Blokada allows your DNS change even outside your home network. ie. 4G

That's how it operates, it uses your VPN slot.

Attached: Screenshot_20181118-085431.png (1440x2560, 656K)

how much are they paying you anyway?

Tired of seeing idiots give Hiro ad money and now he thinks he can fuck the website because of it. You can use whatever you want to block ads but this is the easiest way for your average normalfag to do it. You're entirely missing the point of this thread.

Average normalfags who access this site with a mobile browser should all eat shit and die.

keep going shill,

Complacency like that is the reason 4channel is now a thing.

uBlock doesn't block the ads, it only hides them

Attached: 1530223007154.png (641x361, 10K)

>t. gookmoot

Hiro please.

please yourself off

Adaway and adblock for Android is two different things
Adaway is system wide

Imagine posting the same FUD for years, and linking to a fake charts.

t. gorshill in full damage control mode

>ads are okay cause abp got paid for it

>I am okay with hiding ads instead of blocking them xd
Brainlet

Attached: 1539948279356.png (1149x2224, 1.12M)

>I'm ok with ads because abp doesn't block them at all
oh and yours is a lie :^)

this is some cringe marketing by ABP
nice try

>unticks acceptable ads
nothing personnel kid

Attached: 1517258137802.jpg (1280x960, 277K)

wtf I love ABP now

For YouTube, use the YouTube Vanced magisk module or newpipe

Network Analyst here with a CompTIA Network Cert II, can confirm uBlock Origin only visually hide ads and checking my various network monitors multiple ad network websites continue to load behind the scenes, only when they are fully loaded does uBlock Origin hide the ads in question.
Now I'm no Adblock Plus shill, Infact I still use the old HOSTS file method but with this information in mind I cannot recommend uBlock Origin to anyone who is serious about blocking (not hiding) ads.
The proof can be obtained by anyone, grab your preferred network monitor and see the results for yourself.
Thanks.

I'm Barack Obama and I approve of this message.
