You have no reason to actually hate systemd unless you're a sysadmin. You only do because it's hip

Came here for the pic; disapointing.

>hip
Yeah like normies would know what the fuck SystemD is to begin with. It's hip to hate it HERE and if someone ever used it then they can make up their own mind instead of listening to fuckwits like you.

Came here for the trigger discipline; disappointing

Do you think people that avoid installing the adobe PDF reader are hipsters as well?

1. Distros with systemd boot slower than distros without (in my experience)
2. Pottering is a fuckwit
3. Its our moral obligation to oppose redhats dominance over linux as a whole

When I installed Alpine, it booted slower than Arch.

I like systemd specifically because I'm a sysadmin. Writing unit files is so much easier and less boilerplate-y than writing init scripts, cgroups make resource management easy, and nspawn lets me deploy containers like I'm using docker, but without actually needing to bother with docker

What bootloader?

Ive only tried void and mx. Which do boot faster for me than arch or debian

syslinux is default. OpenRC is the init system

DANGEROUS trigger discipline

The thing is with point 1.), which I see thrown around the most, is that with both my laptop and desktop's M.2 drives, Fedora and Xubuntu boot from grub in under 3 seconds to a full desktop, so I couldn't be bothered if the alternatives shave a few milliseconds off. At least there's other reasons to bash it that's been mentioned but nothing that personally affects me yet, same with Pulse (barring Bluetooth issues, which I rarely use but is a valid point)

We all know you glow in the dark.

In no one's defense, systemd-boot is actually a good bootloader.

Not sure if you're trying to make systemd look good but I"ll be sure to use it now

said no one ever

> he thinks he's on the good side of the barbed-wire

It gets longer if you use it as a server with actual services/content. SQL servers take longer, apache takes longer. It adds up

>redhat
You mean IBM? :^)

>1. Distros with systemd boot slower than distros without (in my experience)
your experience is trash, the sample size of distros without systemd that are actually being used/supported/actively developed is too small by comparison.
>3. Its our moral obligation to oppose redhats dominance over linux as a whole
they don't dominate shit faggot, there's no such thing as monopoly just because people choose to implement your software
Nobody forces you to use systemd

test

Systemd has no reason to exist. It's bad for power users, but especially so for casual users, since other modern init systems "just werk" without a literal million lines of code.

>Distros with systemd boot slower than distros without (in my experience)
B-but weren't muh boot times the whole point of systemd in the first place?

But I am a sysadmin
