First for fuck Manjaro

Stop choosing a distro solely based on what's popular on distrowatch.

stob usng babby distro!!! me grown man arch linucks you baby haha

Attached: arch soylet.png (1200x800, 49K)

Oi,
whats your experiences with Solus OS?
e. g. with Touchscreen use, video editing or playing fortnite?

>rewrite a performance-critical bash script using posix things only so i can run it in dash
>ends up being slower than the bash version because it has no bashisms for string processing
which hipster shell do i try next

>manjaro_smugness_reaching_critical_mass.png

You use a baby distro. It’s nothing to brag about.

Nice Pepe, fampai

Attached: 1542511141296.png (750x1000, 149K)

shit, forgot to use that apu as op

I don't even use Manjaro kek, but I would unironically use it over you joke distro for mentally challenged individuals.

You use Manjaro. Manjaro is a baby distro for retards to embarrassed to use Ubuntu. You are not special. You have no reason to feel proud for being to stupid to copy and paste a handful of commands and install proper arch. You are a brainlet like all Manjaro users.

You wipe your ass with your bare hands, user?
You know, toilet paper is bloat.

>can’t install arch
>insults are complete non-sequiturs
>uses manjaro

How can one persons life go so wrong?

>performance-critical bash
C or Python.

>installs a distro for babbies
>thinks hes tough shit for using the most shilled distro on r/unixporn
ya ok pal lol

what are you even trying to do?

how many IQ points i gain by setting up my clock on a command line, user?

>surprised the best rolling release distro is also the most popular
>surprised he gets called out for being smug about using a baby distro, when he uses a baby distro

Fagjaro users have literally no reasoning skills, huh?
Come to think of it that’s probably why they use such a shitty baby distro.

none, just copy everything you see on the wiki

awww cute wittle arch babby need his daipy changey

This thread is instantly shit. Can we start over?

Quite a few actually. Case in point, remember that time the Manjaro devs forgot to update the SSL certs on their website. And when people complained they claimed it was user error and there wasn’t a problem.

And then their eventual ‘fix’ was just telling their users to set their system clocks back a month.

So I guess time keeping is out of reach for Manjaro fags. What would you expect from a baby distro?

news.softpedia.com/news/Manjaro-Devs-Fix-Embarrassing-Expired-SSL-Certificate-Problem-478151.shtml

Manjaro is a baby distro for people to stupid to install arch.

If you are too stupid to install Arch then you shouldn't be allowed to use computers.

When you fuck up copypasting the OP, you know you're a fuckup.

imagine being this mad at Arch users just because you lack the small amount of brain power on following instructions and typing a few commands.

yea that's right you're a big boy you installed arch

is there a way to get the terminal to automatically do something when I start up?

Are there any alternatives to Fedora which are similarly up to date (i.e. not quite bleeding edge, but not outdated either) and also just werk?

You use Manjaro. Why do you think you can be sarcastic to anyone?

Ex: termite -e "do something"

I would counter with if you use Manjaro you probably can’t use a computer.

and you use arch, which is a babby's first distro
imagine being this angery when confronted with the truth

Just make a bash script with your favorite text editor, make it executable and make it run on startup.

So you're confirming that both Arch and Manjaro are easy to use. Because they're both the same in functionality.

Is it worth using powertop on desktops and things like the raspberry pi?

If you copy and paste commands from the arch wiki without knowing what you're doing, you're no better than the average n00buntu user.

>try kde
>thinks my monitor only supports 30hz
well done folks

>arch is babies first distro
>./no_u.sh

Manjaro is babies first distro. You are superior to no one. Your baby distro is based on Arch, and all it’s users are people too stupid to install it’s progenitor.

>manjaro and arch have the same functionality

This is what Manjaro babies actually believe.

I honestly don't get it. Arch is nothing more than running a pacstrap script to install all the packages required to operate. It's no more complicated than installing Debian. I've installed both and Arch is far simpler.

I stuck with Debian because it's so snappy. Applications instantly pop up. In Arch, there was always a second or two delay like I was on Windows.

>browse r/unixporn long enough to think using arch makes you smarter
YIKES
based archbabbies

C?

>been usin Manjaro long enough to literally become removed from reality

Manjaro is baby arch. It’s not better at anything and you only use it because you’re a brainlet who couldn’t install arch.

>manjaro sucks!
>no, arch sucks!
>no, manjaro is for babies!
>well manjaro is just arch so that means arch is also for babies!
>but arch makes you use the command line whereas manjaro doesn't because it's for double-babies!

It's literally the same base packages with a slightly different repository but very much identical.

Post some facts that it's not or shut the fuck up already. This is why you have no friends and punch holes in walls.

FUCK ARCH

/fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.

can we please talk about something other than arch and arch derivatives

Ubuntu regular releases

No. For as long as you literal children are using Manjaro, there will always be someone to defend the good name of Arch.
Keep it simple.

Nobody uses Gnome anymore.

>./no_u.sh
Kek.

Attached: nou.png (565x360, 52K)

I agree that the Manjaro baby is a retard but please keep the friendly GNU/Linux thread friendly, yes even to retards that are buttmad against Arch.

>Manjaro babies think they're on the same level as Arch users

My sides

I don't use either of them.

>that konsole background
HAAAAAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
I HAVE NO WORDS FOR THIS
YOU JUST BTFO OF YOURSELF, OUT OF THIS UNIVERSE
IT'S ALL OVER
THIS IS THE ARCH HATER LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

>Arch losers think they're anywhere near the level of NixOS and GuixSD users

just survived a pg_upgrade bois

>Nobody uses Gnome anymore.

I used to think it was ok until a few years ago when they moved everything over to a bar on the left, and if you had more than one terminal it crammed them all into one so that you had to click a few times to find a specific one, and in the same update they added the gay animation where the icons sorta bounced a little when they moved. at that point I decided to let the reddit/microsofties/macfags or whoever was in charge of gnome have their shit, and moved to xfce.

that and they got rid of the old maximize/minimize icons and changed to the idiotic red green and yellow lights. I'd lay 100:1 odds that shit came from mac or windows. I kinda understand red means stop and green means go, but what the fuck does it mean to "caution" a window. jesus.

sup fellas, what's the dns server of freedom?

Attached: 1491323505688.png (900x780, 463K)

>I kinda understand red means stop and green means go, but what the fuck does it mean to "caution" a window. jesus.
>hmm
>i wonder what the exact same order has been since the fucking 70's
>i wonder what that middle icon could be
>i mean its only 3 options
> and its in the same order
Stop being autistic

>her windows only have three buttons
OMG you're basically using Redmondware at this point

Actually I’m a debian user, and it’s konsole transparency I overlayed over a Chinese cartoon. I just thought the manjarofag was annoying.

>debian
How's the 3.12 kernel these days?

Mine dont have buttons
Buttons are bloat

4.9 is great. You don’t mess with perfection.

>If you copy and paste
I did not say copy and paste, I said following instructions and typing a few commands. Obviously if you copy paste everything you will fuckup.
Those who copy paste are brainlets

I couldnt use KDE on stretch because it was too buggy im surprised that you find it usable

This is what coping looks anons.
This idiot probably failed at some point to install Arch because he's a brainlet.
But of course he cannot accept that reality, so he tried so convince himself that Arch is shit and goes around insulting Arch to cope with the fact that he simply is too stupid for it.
It's much easier to say that Arch is shit rather than come to terms with reality that he actually has a 2 digit IQ and can't follow simple instructions from a wiki

Had to sort a few things out with xdotool but now it’s completely stable.

Constantly checking every keypress to determine if it's a keybind is more bloat than a GTK button though.

Make your own global keybinds? and stop being a pussy ass bitch?

Why you dont want to use fedora if it satisfies you?

Has nothing to do with processing. It still checks every keypress to check if it's a keybind whether it's a default or you set your own.

Attached: 1534793848508.png (1000x922, 1.01M)

The system checks every key you pressed to see if it has a modifier on it
So using shift is bloat?
Oh shit i used a symbol, oh shit i did it again. Fuck i cant stop using symbols. Is that bloat?(fuck i did it again)

If you have a 100hz cpu and using modifiers on your system HALTS it, you might want to fucking upgrade
Anything else isnt a performance factor at all

Thinking about installing Windows to avoid having to deal with all this shit desu

nobody cares, die

Oh shit I have windows buttons enabled, oh shit i did it again. Fuck i cant stop using opening windows. Is that bloat?(fuck i did it again)

If you have a 100hz cpu and drawing 3 GTK buttons on your system HALTS it, you might want to fucking upgrade
Anything else isnt a performance factor at all

>Manjarobabysmugness.png

toxic attitudes in the Linux community on display once again

>I'm going to post about baseball in a basketball topic then call them toxic for getting mad at me for talking about a different sport

You post means nothing to the conversation.
Your retarded logic is that pressing global keybinds some how slows the system down, when the xserver processes it within picoseconds of pressing the keybind, even on a 100hz processor

>You post means nothing to the conversation.
>Your retarded logic is that having windows buttons some how slows the system down, when the xserver processes it within picoseconds of pressing the window, even on a 100hz processor

Why are Latin Americans and Spaniards so much into Linux and free software?

Hi /fglt/, winfag with ayymd gpu here
Is Lubuntu 18.10 worth installing? It looks quite nice and only takes around 300 MB of RAM. Considering that I'm limited to 4GB it's a blessing for me.

Is Fedora 29 Xfce still buggy?

Pacman > apt in my opinion, so install Arch or Manjaro.

This is not 100% linux related, but my guess is that someone in here is likely to use Kdenlive.
I have auto mask following an Object and now I want to auto zoom on it.
How would I accomplish this

Attached: 1513725971753.jpg (1024x609, 465K)

I'm way too used to apt now
And no, I have no desire to deal with setting up Arch or Manjaro's bloat.

I had the displeasure of installing Windows 10 on my aunt's laptop. All the fucking background downloading, and slow as fuck process got me to thinking. If you can stop yelling at each other and live up to the thread's name for a minute -
What OS / distro should I use to be able to use D12, while not losing much of W7's functionality?

OpenBSD

Yes, I've used it and it's decent.

what distro is not frigging meme around here?

You might want to stay with 18.04 because its LTS while 18.10 you will have to upgrade in a few months
If you want other lightweight alternatives take a look at Xfce-based Xubuntu or Linux Lite
What is D12? otherwise see above

I've tried to do just that and i could never get it to work
It would be the panzoom filter.
