GTX 680 and 780Ti buyers remorse thread

GTX 680 and 780Ti buyers remorse thread.

$400 290, not even the 290X, shitting on the $700 780Ti which came out after it. :(
290 still all you need for 1080p gaming, while 780Ti is just a paper weight.

>just wait, in 5 years it will beat nvidias card by 5fps

who the fuck has buyers remorse for cards they bought nearly seven years ago

wtf i hate my old 680 now

* in cherry picked title only

People who couldnt play gta 5 at high on their gtx 760/770 cuz of vram limit

>xe uses the browser built-in screencap tool
jesus christ
at least it's memevaldi so you get half a smiley face for your thread
kys

>updating Nvidia drivers to latest
Nvidia gimps their older cards. This is why all these comparisons with newer cards are garbage. Just use an old driver. 347.88 is one of last good one for 600/700.

I played GTAV on a mix of settings of high and medium at 1440p at a consistent 60fps with my 2GB 770

I have whatever the opposite of buyers remorse is for getting a 7970.
Beats more expensive cards that came out 2 years after it. I only finally replaced it this year even though I really didn't NEED to.

I think most people who got a 680 or 780Ti have already replaced them by now.
>muh cherrypicked
This is really a typical example. I've seen lots of games the past 2 years where the 7970GHz and 1050Ti are within 10% of the 780Ti, whereas the 290 is still hanging up there with the 1060 and RX580 and going fine except for the power consumption.

>use old driver
>Game errors out on boot, telling you to update driver

>high and medium
>not high
Wow you sure showed that user, user.

Have a zotac 780 amp version that i got back in Nov 2013. Still runs most games at high quality, this is the longest I've gone without upgrading. At this rate it'll last me another year or two before I have to go upgrade. Absolutely no regrets, only children upgrade this video cards every generation.

I upgraded my 9800 GT to a 1080 Ti poorfag life.

Read again dumb spastic, i said high, the nvidia cards, despite being newer couldn't play gta 5 on high because they lacked the extra 500mb in vram, although 3gb was industry standard from amd years before

Who /970chad/ here?
Literally the perfect card for 1080p

>Could have gotten a 280X and had the same performance for cheaper
>Could have gotten a 290 and had 30% better than 780Ti performance for cheaper than the 780
You say you don't regret it, but you should.

290 came out years earlier and matches it.

Still happy with my 750ti, when it dies I'll go for a 1050ti.

Bought a r9 390 the same time my friend bought his 970. His died a month ago and I'm still going pretty strong. Still need to upgrade though, games are beginning to outpace my pc

Every card I had aged line wine
1080
56
390x
Not on amd CPUs my 2700x and 1080 are getting faster in newer more optimised games especially with dx12/vulkan

>I'll buy a 1050Ti even though an RX570 gives 45% higher FPS for the same price
You people have an undiagnosed mental illness.

You went from Vega56 to a 1080?

And ended up keeping the 1080
Gives me an excuse to go 7nm amd Arcturus when it comes out

>1050ti
Are you having a stroke? This is a perfect example of Nvidia's mindshare monster at work.

Thats a 10% upgrade at max, how can you be so retarded?

Imagine being so little in life that you claw at "victories" about decisions made 5 years ago.

Maybe if you invested in yourself you would be able to afford something better now

Eh I wasn't happy with no 21:9 dsr support on Vega at the time and I couldn't find a decent aftermarket air cooler

Still what the fuck, a uprade would be a 1080ti not a completly useless 1080, it isn't even worth paying 100€ extra from the 1070

Eh I got the 1080 cheap 2 years I tried a Vega 56 and didn't find it as fast last year and swapped between them.
I'll just get a used 64 with a decent cooler if the 1080 shits itself again as it's already been repaired

>bought a 670
>Friend bought a 7970
>mfw I realise I was the one who made the wrong choice
Fuck, I'm never buying NVIDIA again. I'm putting all my cards on FineWine™

>use new driver
>game errors out mid-game and driver crashes
>use old driver
>FPS increase, no errors

1080 is not old enough. Just wait til it happens. I had this happen to my 8600gt, 9800gt, and 660ti. Went with RX 580 because of this.

Sorry not gonna happen as I said I'm not effected by Intel's horse shit and vulkan/dx12 still fast as fuck.
Haven't updated past 399.24 and not running meme resolutions like 4k

>be me in 2012
>weight up between 680s, 7970s, even 7990s and 690s
>buy a pair of those flash newly released 4gb GTX680s
>fast forward to today
t. Buyer's remorse

Shows how much gpus can shine if you don't everything on ultra 4k. The rx560 and 570 are getting amazing results. I'm still on the gtx660ti unfortunately.

in europe amd cards cost more than in burgerland. a 1050ti is cheaper here than a rx 570 4gb and its is only since end of summer that consumers can actually buy them. during the mining craze they didnt exist.
