Get a graphics card that isn't shit and/or outdated.

It's an oem GTX 760

works well enough for playing games in 1080p without antialiasing and low-res textures, but it's just too loud and i was wondering if anyone here knows of an easy way to fix it in software.

and i'm using fedora linux with nvidia proprietary drivers

It's loud because it's overheating.
The original post still stands.

i completely understand and i'm not disputing the fact that i should buy a new one, it's just that i cant afford a new one and my 760 hasnt broken yet, so i'm trying to squeeze as much use out of it as possible

kill your parents

Just take apart your GPU and unplug the fan wires.

Turn the settings down to low or buy louder headphones.

Try the same game in windows.

Their drivers are really shitty for Linux. If you're getting new hardware then consider buying all AMD.

Manually reduce the fan speed.

Did those cases ever made it out of the prototype stage

Drill a hole trough the wall, get long wires and have computer in the next room.
I am planning to do this setup once I move next year.

Undervolt it. It ain't too difficult, just gotta look for the proper settings.

sounds like a good idea on how to sound proof your computer

This is the answer to all GPU cooling problems.
If I had known how effective this was earlier, I would not have bothered with water cooling.

Are there any cases that support both horizontal mobo and horizontal graphics cards? I'd like a top-tier air cooling build with shit like that and a NH-D15 but I hate how much it bends.
