As a kid I grew up climbing up mountains, running in forests, going to dams to fish and swimming in rivers, I had quite the feral lifestyle thanks to the small semi rural city I lived in. I had my first PC around 9th grade that got sold soon after by dad who noticed me clinging to it too much. If I had to redo one thing about my childhood it would be going on wild adventures more. If I were you I'd make sure my kid got into a tightly knit group of friends that do outdoors more than indoors. Your kid needs no PC.

Got first computer personaly when I was 3 yo and can send my parents to hell for doing that(I genuinly support WHO for declaring game disorter real, can speak from personal exp thats true). Maybe you can give computer at about 6 and with only reason being he will start learning coding and stuff. First ofc start with scratch. But yeah if you're giving the computer not bcz you want him to be a coder but just for funs then give it when he will be about 10 yo. And dont buy expensive shit so he doesnt start spam pirating games and with them viruses. Just smth basic to load medium games on low settings
