Minimalism is not a lack of something. It's simply the perfect amount of something.

Web noob here. Was going to use a static site generator on GitHub but a minimal site sounds cool.

What's the difference between the solutions listed in the OP? They all aim to be lightweight but I'm too much a brainlet to differentiate the usecase.

I've got big black dick and I use only big software.

Is dragora minimal? I ask because it lacks systemD and has FSF approval.

Is that your room OP? Very comfy, used to have mine set up the same way.

>is this distro minimal
>is that distro minimal

all distros are the same, they all use GNU and they all use linux. They use different package managers

systemd is bloat
what did distros use before systemd?

Attached: Screen Shot 2018-06-27 at 11.40.53 PM.png (1980x2058, 1.36M)

yeah, pillows are bloat.

>Alpine
>they all use GNU

90% of distros, then.
happy?

Where do you get that specific number?

It's only with me that cmus becomes really slow when reading cdda?

Pictures on the wall? 9 of them? that's what I call mega-bloat, or rather mental bloat ...
the wall should be white and represent the blank canvas or imaginative space in which thought will form, this is the essence of minimalism

Thoughts on Devuan?

What browser and file manager do you guys use on android?

I use Firefox Klar and Dir as my file manager.

Anything without systems is better than anything with systemd.

I'm trying to really get into software minimalism but I still dont know which wm to choose. Today I only use KDE, theres anything that could replace it the same ways it behaves?

Living the dream

Yeesh

use i3, get used to it.
move on to dwm

Use 9front instead

I'll show you white

Friendly reminder that suckless is a satire and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Don't worry we all know that.

King of minimalism.

bloat

who the fuck are you, user?
you are one bloated motherfucker.

Lived in a van, 2 gig, 640x480, 16 colors, single voice. The train did all the suiciding for him, didn't even have to buy a rope

best torrent client? stuck between transmission-daemon and rtorrent

if you can't kill yourself through extreme meditation, then don't kill yourself.
>The train did all the suiciding for him
Why was at the train station? He made a mess with his dead corpse.

MESS = BLOAT

What does suckless think of IPFS?

and that schizo retard uses firefox with javascript enabled.
why not live in nature?

There is anything that I dont need to get used first? I want something that just werks.

can you just say you retarded and not interested using windows managers

What about parabola, is that minimal?

I seriously hope you guys know how to compile your own kernels

linux.com/learn/intro-to-linux/2018/4/how-compile-linux-kernel-0

to trim bloat?

The ssd memory trick? Don't think so, it prevents wear of your ssd

How do you tile it so well?

So I installed st and fucked something up. None of the patches seem to work.
How do I uninstall St?
I made "make uninstall" but I can still launch st.

Attached: my room.jpg (3984x2241, 308K)

type this in the terminal

whereis st

sudo rm

Thanks.

Sexy. Disconnect that cm led though.

good idea, the internal lights reflect cpu temp though so I like having those on

Living the dream

>using windows
>having a desktop computer
>bed

the table looks nice though.
just remove the bed

>Looks like a prison cell
>Tfw a prison bed is more comfortable than that "bed" shown

>comfort
beds are bloat
discomfort is way better

youtube.com/watch?v=6P-P3yMAQAM

If you can't use curl to download it then it's unnecessary bloat.

how would music production fit into this aesthetic? are there any open source DAWs?

soundcloud.com/user-859965052/lmms

Use Lmms.

whats that bloat on the right?

MS DOS IS MINIMAL

conky is not bloat

yes it is
the time is in your dwm status and in conky.
how fucking redundant.

>open source DAWs?
daws are bloat
csound, supercollider, or pure data

>voluntarily falling into the paradox of choice

Yeesh

No, that's cat-v.org. suckless gets shit actually done.

urxvt is fine as long as you don't look much into .Xresources. Then you become frightened and you finally convince yourself that st is saner despite its quirks, those that can be patched easily anyway.

Attached: screen_Knuth_2000.jpg (1024x768, 203K)

id for casing?

I use Ubuntu Gnome + Google Chrome.

Attached: lqb8.jpg (600x600, 16K)

I use dmw, st, dmenu, and slstatus + google chrome

use firefox at least

herbstluftwm
icecat
vifm
mpv
vim
pqiv
bash
sakura

get fucked nerds

If something is useful, is it bloat?

>linux.com
that's not where you look for help, read gentoo or arch wiki
here for the kernel configuration:
wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Kernel/Gentoo_Kernel_Configuration_Guide

electric blankets are awesome

Why the fuck is Debian on the category of most sane minimal when it haves fucking systemd?

>this gay ass ducky or whatever this keyboard is
I love it

is that A485?

>GNU nano or Vim
Vimzards assemble, I want an (alias? function? whatever) that'd allow me to quickly toggle between displaying spaces and tabs (. and -> seem reasonable) and not displaying them. I found this
set listchars=eol:⦙,tab:>⋅,trail:~,extends:>,precedes:

>knuth doesn't even write in emacs, but by hand, then just types up the final version

Is this The Way?

i like the colors , what kind of theme color is that ?

Just map a key to toggle :set list

Oh, so I can paste the first command into my .vimrc and just call the second by hand to toggle it? If that's the case then I'm all set, cool. Gonna try it out when I'll get back home.

if you set it up properly, it should be. you can start by using openrc instead of systemd, if you're that kind of init autist. just be prepared to get memed on in this circle of hell because parabola is essentially arch but FLOSS.

hope this helps

What is the minimal™ way of managing large amounts of images? It's not efficient to use the terminal. I need to have a thumbnail view.

fuck off bloatfag

>best torrent client? stuck between transmission-daemon and rtorrent
Honestly, aria2c is my most favorite one. What can't be got with it shan't be got.

no u

Which wm do you guy consider the most configurable?

Thunar or pcmanfm. Whichever one requires fewer additional dependencies.

minimally functional lmaooooaa

what a nice lesbian

pcmanfm seems to be the way. It will take 4MB of disk space if I install it. For thunar it's over 12MB.

she cute
