Navi is going to be an microarchitectural improvement over vega and the first round of it will feature 40 CUs with an estimated 1.5GHz clock (about 8 FP32 TFLOP). The difference this time is it will better be able to utilize more of it's FP32 peak compute and we can see it perform like the vega 64 on pic related or maybe better. Price will also be under $1,000 most likely. The irony of the whole RTX gaymen thing is vega already outperforms RTX cards in ray tracing and we can expect navi to do a better job.

Though statements are made claiming that DXR is not worth paying attention to, the worry that AMD is falling behind in feature sets is real among them. It's probably exacerbated by the promised optimizations for Vega that either failed to materialize or failed to impress.

Even AMD tweets about how Ryzen and NVIDIA gpus are good together.
