CPU
>CPUs less threads usually suffer lower 0.1% minimums
>Athlon 200GE - Bare minimal desktop/gaming
>R3 2200G - Light gaming(dGPU optional)
>R5 2400G - Consider IF on sale
>R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs
>i7-9700k/8700k/8700 - If you have a $2000+ budget and pairing with a 2080 or better
>R7 2700/X - Best value high-end CPU on a non-HEDT platform
>Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT

RAM
>Always choose at least a 2 stick kit
>8GB - Bare minimum/Light desktop use.
>16GB - Standard amount
>32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal. Check "more" for true latency formula

Graphics cards
>RTX 2000 cards; cheap models usually low yield processor. Aim for factory OC versions for best performance
>use your due diligence with cheap MODELS ie MSI Armor (Mk2 is ok), Gigabyte G1/Wf, ASUS dual, and others w/ small heatsinks and low quality fans. They may be cheap, but won't get high boost clocks like better models
1080p
>RX 570/580/1060 6GB - standard 1080p 60fps+ options
1080p@144hz
>Vega 56/1070ti best value, Free/G-sync monitor highly recommended
1440p@60-75hz
>Vega/1070ti/1080/2070
1440p@100+hz
>1080ti/2080
4K
>Upscale from 1620-1800p. Or 2080Ti, but awful value
OpenCL use
>Vega 64

Storage
>Backup before using StoreMi
>Consider a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & HDD
>2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB
>M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard

Display
>Always consider FreeSync w/ AMD cards
>START YOUR BUILD WITH A MONITOR FIRST, then make a build to drive it appropriately

Thank you for your input user. I will buy a new one. Should I go for the G-Sync meme like the sticky says?

G-sync's nice, but in my opinion you may as well save on the cost of G-sync and put it towards the next level GPU (i.e; buying a 1080ti instead of 1080+G-sync). If you're going to stuff around with adaptive sync on anything other than a 1080ti/2080 level of performance, you may as well go a Vega64/Freesync and get the same thing for less money.

I'm seriously considering buying a 256gb SSD to do a StoreMI data drive for my games. I already have a 4TB WD Red for files, pagefile, etc. & an M.2 SSD as a boot drive. Is it a meme?

>6 cores for $26
What it fails to mention is that the non-chinkshit boards are 200+ and you have to get ram on top of that.

It's pretty pointless, 256GB fills really quickly, StoreMi or not. Honestly you could've had just one big SSD for the price of the M.2 drive you have (worse if it's NVMe and not SATA) and a 256GB. That's what I would've done; too bad you already have one SSD already.

Alright thank you. I will now search for a good decent monitor. Friend of mine says that LG are pretty much the best is that right?

What
said. Don't support Novideo's anti-competitive and anti-consumer technology.

What's the best reliable and price/performance/storage HDDs I can get now? Thinking of setting up a plex server using my old Q6600. Damn thing just won't die.

>he didn't upgrade from Phenom to Ryzen
Best upgrade path in existence. Massive jump in performance, no shitty Intel sockets and security holes bullshit, no housefires, no bulldozer. I think I'll stay on AM4 for another 7 years.

Multiple ones if you care about safety.

Ive had good experiences with BenQ personally

I'm thinking of getting 2 or 4 depending on the answer to my question and my budget.

You don’t need 16GB of RAM.

RAID 5 is minimum 3 drives, so do the maths. Obviously RAID is worth it when you really have enough precious data to warrant it.

(You) don't get to decide what I need, user.

elaborate.

I have a Viewsonic I just got that I really like, one of the most subdued gayman monitors I've seen. I also read good things about Mbest on here.

How about curved? Meme or actually good stuff?

I want a recommendation of a monitor with:
>Freesync
>75Hz
>thin bezel
>IPS
>24 inch
>1080p/Full HD
>Rx480 4GB Nitro+

Current monitor: acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/UM.QR1EE.001

Don't like the current one because it lags/ghost when watching anime/video, games and even browsing(work, webdev). I already shut off the overdrive setting. It helps a bit but it still lags/ghost. Just not as bad. Though, the colour is pretty great, I like it. I also tested it with another monitor which is a cheapo 17inch HP monitor and the difference in smoothness is significant. The hp monitor colour is rubbish though.

So yeah, any suggestions?

As an Amerifat I subscribe to the "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" school of thought. I'll never run into bottlenecks with my 16Gb for gayman

It's plex, I can torrent everything back in a day or two even if it crashes.

>I can torrent everything back in a day or two even if it crashes
Then Nyaa died. Better safe than sorry.

Personally I'd say a meme at anything less that 27", and it seems to make most sense if you get something ultrawide.
t. curved TV but flat monitor

Just bought a Philips 246E9Q during Black Friday, to be a second monitor for video editing to my main Ultrawide. Haven't had it for long enough to give a final say on it, but first impressions are really good. 130% sRGB & 90% Adobe RGB after calibration, pretty good response time, good blacks, and no ghosting in the UFO test.

Don't buy a monitor based on brand.
If you see a monitor that you like, read several reviews.

Please recommend reliable hard disks that are value for money in size and performance so I can get to that asap.

I got one of these hp desktops for free the specs are
>i7 2600
>8gb ram
>gt 210
I’ve already put an SSD in and it’s quite snappy at booting and doing general pc stuff but I’d like to do some gaming on it. Nothing too extreme just stuff like 1080p medium graphics settings. What’s the best gpu I can get for under or a little over £100/$130?

Attached: 248460FE-779E-4B9A-A510-4A4497FD37A1.jpg (786x1199, 76K)

I consider to buy at gearbest. Dunno if the chinks doing good work with screens but they vacuums are pretty good imo. Thank you user

I do. How else can I open 5,765,386 chrome tabs, you cuck

Thanks man. It looks pretty great too. I like everything except the refresh rate being 60Hz. The worst being I can't buy it as the monitor not available/sold in my country.

Backblaze specialises in cloud storage and frequently release HDD stats on their blog. Start there.
>backblaze.com/blog/2018-hard-drive-failure-rates/

How big's the PSU in it? I'd like to say try find a GTX970, but a 1050ti (if you can afford it) might be a safer bet if it's a potato power supply.

> I like everything except the refresh rate being 60Hz.
Nah, max refresh rate is 75Hz. Freesync range is 50 to 75. No clue why Philips advertises 60Hz.

>The worst being I can't buy it as the monitor not available/sold in my country.
Where do you live? I first found the monitor on amazon US under a different model name, before finding it in europe. It's possible that your region has the monitor under a different model name. Try looking for "Philips E-line" or "Philips 1080 24" and look for any monitors that look visually similar to it. Chances are the monitor is basically the same.

Is there an mathematical way to measure how good a screens picture is versus another? For example a 1080p 24" monitor at 3' away versus a 4k 55" TV at 7' away? I can figure out the pixel density easy enough, but would you factor in the distance from the screen?

you don't know my workflow.

You're right. I need 32GB.

Also, mind to note the specific model number: their 6TB drives from WDC may not be your 6TB drive from WDC. Same for the Seagate 4TB drive: their 4TB drive model (M000) isn't the one I personally own (M004). Which is expected: their job is all about running drives for hours on end.

>75Hz
Goddamn now I really want it.
>Country
Malaysia
>Philips E-Line
I did more digging, they do sell it but the one without Freesync. Correct me if I am wrong, the one with Freesync has E9 label but the only ones they are selling here has E7. So I checked and cross checked, everything is the same on first glance except the Freesync support which the E7 doesn't have. Yeah...

At least I got something out of it.

Looks good?

i've just installed a 3x4gb 2000mhz xms3 ram kit in my pc. task mngr is only showing 8gb and resource monitor has 4gb listed as hardware reserved. how do i resolve an issue like this?

Attached: ramhello.png (2608x1080, 845K)

There's no issue, that's how Windows works.

Thanks senpai. I'll look into that.

Come South. SLS has everything.

people thought their 200$ ryzens where good deal

when they perform the same as a 8year old 20$ cpu you can run on 775 lol.

i dont think so! i'll check my bios i guess

people thought their 400$ intels were a good deal

when they perform the same as a 8 year old 20$ cpu you can run on 775 lol.

no they don't lol the 400$ intels are like 30% faster
LOL ON YOU

The loo is across the corridor to the left, (You) shill.

Can someone explain why are xeons so cheap? Even if you try getting something like 2600k you will still have to pay way more than for xeons?

>manufacturers need to get rid of shitty old 60hz monitors
>here's an idea, overclock them to 75hz (something literally anyone can do) and sell them at a higher price
>good goyim like this dumb fucker will happily spread their ass cheeks for them

imagine being a fan of Intlel, unironically

Attached: 1541072661432.jpg (500x500, 35K)

Same reason used ThinkPads/Precisions/etc. are cheap compared to their retail prices. Big companies just move on from CPU to CPU very frequently.

Sad but true. Retarded goyim can't even go for a decent 144hz monitor that make an actual difference, instead they think 75hz which is just a factory overlclock is fine.
I guess good on the sellers, they get to get rid of their junk.

whats a good cooler to get for my i7 8700 or i7 8700k ? Still not sure which one to go with. I want a cooler that is easy to install

I've heard Deep Cool has some of the best warranty policies/track records with reumberising people if their AIO's leak, and that Cooler Master is one of the worst for it, is that true?

Is this a good setup for esport titels on 720p?

just get a 2200g apu

yes its fine

>"winkelwagen"
shit that made me laugh

>RGB PSU
HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What motherboard brand do you trust the most when it comes to AMD CPUs?
Also, are there any motherboards nowadays that don't have useless LEDs everywhere?

Attached: A1jZamS%2Bv-L._SL1500_.jpg (1239x1500, 677K)

anyone knows whats this fan controller?

Attached: Screenshot_4.png (763x460, 514K)

the low budget ones
if you want one with good vrm and shit you'll have to get one of the rgb ones

Just bought a Sapphire RX580, removed old drivers and clean installed the new ones.
The card has a physical switch on it that apparently switches the bios from "Gaming" mode to "Compute" mode. If I have it on compute mode everything is ok. When I switch it to gaming mode (which apparently is the default mode) the fans rev up but I can't boot.
Pic related
What the actual fuck does it do?
What the fuck do I do? Do I gimp myself on the puny compute mode?

Attached: uberultraextremegaymenmode.jpg (4160x2340, 2.64M)

>200GE BCLK OCing

do a clean install of windows, sounds like its a driver problem still

Attached: 1432244292208 - Copy.jpg (694x713, 68K)

Do you have EFI on?
Sapphire cards don't have 'Gaming' and 'Compute' modes - but they do have a dual bios feature which by default has EFI and Legacy bioses.

I assume this card you've purchased is used.
You don't have to run EFI forever, just to boot the card on the EFI bios, so you can reflash it.

What's wrong with that, I bet you also think there's anything wrong with white genocide

For how much, +200mhz?

*inhales*

They dont.

I need more storage for my XPS 15
What 2.5 disk is the best ?
I was thinking about a 1TB SSD
860 Evo (174€) or MX500 (139€) ?

>I assume this card you've purchased is used.
No, new.

should i buy the r7 2700x or wait for the 3700x or whatever they'll call it?

>They dont.

do you have any benches or evidence

700

Some garbage AAA productions struggle with only 8GB.
That being said, only NPCs would buy such games anyway

Yuzu not only has a memory leak but also commits 6GB immediately on startup :^)

>200+
What europoor shit-tier currency are you talking about, Abdul?

youtube.com/watch?v=KM9kMK9Fi5E

>buying games
oof

I will spread them more if you have a better monitor than that price.

Is there any difference between these two?

newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137254
newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500430
After tax, it's a matter of probably $80 for me.

>buys 75hz monitor for the same price as 60
>ocs it to 100
Pshh nothing personel kiddo

That's kinda based

More reviews = higher quality

Nigga, do you even know how expensive a decent X58 board is???

look at benchmarks, especially at temps and noise

Thank God I live in a white neighborhood, but they better not do this shit with the rest of my new PC build.

>RTX 2070
No

I can't find any site to compare these two. Could you give me a nudge in the right direction?

try to find 1070 ti roundups like tweaktown.com/articles/8428/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1070-ti-roundup-evga-galax-msi-zotac/index.html

Newer games struggle with 8, especially if you have anything open in the background.

The BCLK probably, which is now available on some mobos with the latest AGESA 1.0.0.6
