Asked this in the previous thread, so will asked here if it gets skipped:
Newfag to headphones here. Want to upgrade from cheap earbuds. Sennheiser HD 420 look promising. Are they worth it or should I just get HD 202?

$4000 SR-009 was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701

LOL, Stax being audiophool meme confirmed

Arguments against DT 880?
They'll be used for everything

A new meme was born in previous threads:

Stax incel - An audiophool who got memed into buying expensive electrostatic headphones which actually sound worse than a cheap mid-fi dynamics. Being a victim of buyers Stockholm syndrome Stax incel tries to defend his choice as hard as he can, but he always fails because you can't argue with facts. Stax incel is a part of "Most Valuable Goy" meme.

Literally nothing, even 990 are a good choice.

>990
Say something about accusations of treble ordnance then

As someone said in the previous thread;
>Stax aren't really known for being high quality. They have a high rate of failure for their drivers, they have several cases of bad drivers being shipped (include the newest 009S which retails for almost 5 grand), their drivers were notoriously prone to dust problems.

I decided to look it up for myself regarding the 009 driver issues, what do you behold... many problems and people raging at stax for being allowed to be such a shit company; changstar.com/www.changstar.com/index.php/topic,1055.0.html

Also reading more, STAX is actually owned by a Chinese company.

>It's not that a Chinese company has interest in STAX. they have already bought STAX.

LMAO

Arguments for DT 990 over HD 600?

990 is cheaper, brighter, warmer sound, as well as having a huge sound-stage (Perfect if you are a gamer). 990's are a headphone many gamer's pick simply because of how clear and accurate they are, and the sound-stage they get with the combo.

990's are more fun over the HD600.

So they sound like K712?

DT990 were rated significantly higher than HD650 and K712 in Harman blind tests

With enough paper towels they can be modded into kind of 880s until your hearing is seasoned enough to pierce the veil with true boomer treble.

You can say that, i still prefer the 990's, if you want something more neutral like that of the HD600 get the Dt 880 (600 ohm).

The best headphones ever made for only $4500. Time to start saving.

Greatly appreciated

If you pay 4500 for a headphone there's really something wrong with you.

There's a budget option for people like you! Regularly on sale for $2000 used, with sound that's nearly as good.

Especially for a 009s that still continues to have numerous problems, and many imbalances issues see; It's amazing a $4500 headphone has such horrible QC.

PLEB

shit tier OP

They sound worse than mid-fi dynamic cans lol

It's okay if you're poor. There's no need to be a bitter incel, just pick up one of these.

Stax are objectively garbage, why should I use them?

>Chinese company
>Horrible quality
>Dust literally kills the drivers

I'd rather get a sennheiser.

>there are newfags who didnt know this
They got bought by edifier ages ago, for very low sum by the way. Edifier is an ok chink company though, their speakers are very good around $100 range.

Lot of jealousy going on. Fine - take these! Only $600 for those of you on shoestring budgets, even cheaper used.

Are the Philips X2/27 Fidelio any good?

They're not Japanese or German. I mostly play games and listen to music casually.

That's erhm
I don't
What?

Yes they are, but I hate the massive cups. They're like getting hugged too softly by a 6'3 family member who you wish would just shake hands instead.
