Don't really care about botnets, FOSS apps are just generally much better than the curryware you find on the Play Store.

Grab F Droid, it's kinda like Google Play for FOSS apps
Tachiyomi (manga reader), Simple Notes, Droidfish (chess) and Clover (foneposter ftw) are my faves
If you want Play Store .apk's without a Google account, look into Yalp Store

Chromium SWE works well. A lot of things expect chrome to be present. I mostly use lightning browser though.

thanks, i was using fennec today, and it was surprisingly good as i remember firefox on android was pretty bad compared to chrome. i'm trying bromite out and liking it so far, it's solid despite having less features as far as i can tell right now
