Stock just works.

It's not 2012. I have no reason to.

>doesn't support my model

To do what?

Lineage doesn't come with a superuser binary by default you fucking ape.

Wouldn't this make Samsung Pay no longer work? I use that feature! Also there is no need to root a phone in 2018

I used the rinkydink trash builds for S6 maintained by college kids mostly during their summer vacations for over a year before I just had to give up and go back to stock.
1. No bugs (you tell me!) (provide logcat)
2. There's randomly no call audio, here's the logcat
3. Known bug in firmware, can't fix, still no bugs
4. We are now working on Android 9 and in every update introduce dozens of regressions to rice the kernel 0.01%, (btw no bugs)
goto 1

I don't know how because obscure fone and im not using poojeet chink spyware

Yes you are

Still waiting for official Sony XZ1 compact support

They just dropped support for my Samsung Galaxy Note 3

But i need samsung pay though

Don't use gapps, ape.

Poor and jewpilled.

You need root for adblock

>loads custom rom with baseband blobs
>thinks he escaped the botnet

Attached: rms_cubecraft.png (1500x1200, 1.01M)

I did run without gapps for a while, but I really need Google shit atm, I'm busy job hunting
>Dat Gmail
>Dat LinkedIn

Vpn based adlockers dont need root. For samsung phones, theres also adhell/sabs which doesnt rely on the vpn function for adblocking.

Rooting a phone is just a band aid, the proper way is to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM. The most patrician way is to also sign the kernel and recovery with your own keys and re-lock the bootloader. Not all phones support it yet.

unironicaly can't play fortnite mobile and pokemon go.

look up magisk

It's a feature.

>cucked by virizon
>model only supports 14.1

>opengapps
you not gonna make it

botnet

I've no reason to, and my OS hasn't been rooted

>open source
>botnet

Oh you got me there, there's never been malware in any open source softwares.

>malware
not in magisk
if you're that concerned you can go and check it yourself
github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk

They provide one though.

>bought my Android 6 phone in 2016
>got Android 8
>still get security updates
Thanks based Motorola

I would, but motorola wont let me unlock the bootloader on my z2 play

>install official supported LineageOS
>everything nice
>slowdowns after a while
>X stopped working intensifies
>have to reboot the phone on a bi-daily basis

>stock Android 6 ROM
>uptime 4357h as of now
I don't even use my phone except for messenger, maps or as a music player. That was the last time I fell for the open source meme.

Stock Android experience, Privacy Guard, updates that don't rely on the phone maker.

POP THESE NIGGAS LIKE A WHEELIE, NIGGA
YOU A SILLY NIGGA

Based and bluepilled

It's already rooted. Tons of good apps need it. Like USB Mountr, Hijacker.

Its only really worth it for adaway and naptime (to decrease awake time of the phone from 2 hours to doze to zero).

From what I have heard about lineage os, everytime you update it, you need the clear the cache from recovery. Pretty big bullshit, but what can I say some of us have no choice on the matter.

Idk who told you that but that's the stupidest thing I read today. You don't need to clear cache.

I need to pay to unlock my bootloader!!! Fuck you huawei

>tfw s8
Why did I have to get the one phone that would never ever get lineage.

Time to ditch them.

since we are at it guys
what do you think oneplus will show on the 11th?

Something expensive. They keep bumping the prices. Xiaomi takes over with the Pocophone and they can go fuck themselves.

Don't listen to him. You don't have to pay to unlock a Huawei. You just have to put in some info and then you get an unlock code.

You can just port it.

Bullshit man!

xda-developers.com/huawei-honor-request-bootloader-unlock-code/

Oh shit, didn't realize they went full jew. I've got a Mi Mix 2 now, wouldn't go back to Huawei anyway.

I installed Gentoo on all my machines, yet for some reason I can't bring myself to install a custom ROM on my phone. How long does it take?

>tfw still using nexus 5 on cyanogenmod 13

Maybe an hour to setup a custom rom. Maybe three more hours to setup all your apps how you want them.

>Maybe an hour to setup a custom rom.
Excluding the download time, 15 seconds to unlock BL and flash twrp, then maybe 20 seconds to boot into twrp and 50 seconds to flash the custom ROM.

Can't got mediacucked by this $160 phone

>in a xiaomeme-dominated price range
>didn't get a xiaomeme

>Never buying a flagship ever again
You should, because it has a 32bit SoC. It's time to upgrade to at least the S7 Edge.
So you manufacture your own hardware then?

...

what other phone has wireless charging, SD slot/dual sim for $160. Even without root this thing is miles faster than anything in that price range. Everything else is 8xA53 crap

I gave up and got an Z5 Compact.

Only real reason is to have a proper adblock.

What root apps would you lads recommend?

Attached: Screenshot_2018-12-02-23-14-16.png (1440x2880, 436K)

It's not like there's a choice nowadays, user. There's barebones root zip from LOS, compromised superSU and what everybody uses - Magisk.

>What root apps would you lads recommend?
Adaway, AfWall+, AppOps, Kernel Adiutor, Migrate.

>Only real reason is to have a proper adblock.
Not really, when you can use microG, have regular updates in order to fight planned obsolescence and among other things.

The S7 looks solid, I'd get the non-Edge version if I went for it.
That said the S5 is extremely comfy:
>Removable battery
>Expandable storage
>Headphone jack
>No notch
>Removable plastic back

Attached: 1543770556308.jpg (1381x815, 74K)

Whats that image from?

I have xperia xz and rooting means flashing custom rooms and what not, basically too much work, I cant be bothered, stock mostly works, if there was an root app, some kind of hack thats just werks Id do it

>The S7 looks solid, I'd get the non-Edge version if I went for it
Don't because you'll be missing out on very good battery life and a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.
>That said the S5 is extremely comfy:
I loved mine too.

Thanks fren

I installed lineage on my 3t yesterday, now I don't have mobile data, which means I can't shitpost on the go.

unofficial here on n920t few problems like mic when calling is pretty bad, some initial codec issues at first but its pretty doable

it's a very low range phone from 2011. not supported by anything else than its stock rom.

i can't, with rooted phone i can't use my bank's app

Attached: whylive.gif (500x280, 1009K)

Same here but i bypassed their root check with Magisk.

Even though you do, since it refreshes the cache to a new state after an update. The battery drain I experience right now on my phone lessens when I do just that.

i'll check it out, ty user

Can't I have a cubot j3 pro.

>Stock Android experience
God forbid, these aren't Nexus times

But what if I use a flip phone?

I would've already if it wasn't for the stupid Xiaomi unlock wait time.

>Using my venerable old s4
>Battery life has become completely fucked at idle, no matter what I do to try and fix it, including a new samsung battery
>Root phone and install Lineage
>Totally fixed
Samsung confirmed for purposefully kneecapping the battery life of old phones?

Is there something like a BIOS or EFI I can use, when I failed to install a custom OS?

I guess there's exactly two sailfish users on Jow Forums, you and me.

what for? just because?

About to install Lineage for my dad on his S4, glad to know it works

Attached: boooris.gif (500x278, 1.46M)

Failed to install? How so? Do you have a custom recovery set up?

i've been using lineage on my S4 since cyanogenmod died and lineage started
has always worked perfectly

i guess you can still hack it

use google pay
also kys

Tried on huawei y7 2018 and you can't.

>install latest whyred lineageOS microg fork
>half the functions of the phone don't work and most apps are broken
>cbf flashing stock again
well memed frens

One of the last good phones ever made. I wish I bought 4 of them new at triple current prices.
Got it wet all the time, lineage support, dropped it constantly, screen never broke, 10 second hotswap with removable batteries, still works perfectly fine.

Magisk is superior anyways.

>MicroG
It has nothing to do with adblocking.

You know you can just IMAP your gmail account right? And you can grab play store apps with yalp store.
