Anone, do you think that we are living in times, where information is so common, that no matter what we do, we will have easier times on grasping upon things during old age? Isn't wise use of Internet a cure for dementia..? Like.. look around - so much stuff's happening around, it's a 24/7 information stream with you holding control over the power switch. Unless you live in a heavily urbanized city, then it's near impossible to find an empty asylum.
On the other hand, books are coole. I'm really curious how reading speed changed over the course of last few centuries - printing was a thing, it made every symbol of a similiar character to the one before. It's also responsible for why we are reading. That we can do so, starting from mere plebejus to upper classes. 400, 500.. even 1000 words a minute is starting to become a norm in society, could you believe this? How fast were people reading before Internet? How so before print was invented..? I just thought it's pretty curious~
I'd love it if some smart people could make an estimate of how the ratio of useful accessible information to the amount of bullshit grew in the last few decades. Probably would be an interesting result

Yeah, even my granny has had an eReader for over four years. Which is understandable with the lower weight and zoomable font. I was told to get a kindle, but there are so many brands and models to compare. I think I'd rather get the model of a local book store than feeding even more money to amazon than I already do. Yeah wind is very annoying, I like to sit on the dyke and read, but it's very annoying when it's windy and it's nearly always windy.
Well I'm not sure about the whole useful information thing. Call me a touch sceptic but I'm starting to feel information-wise humanity is still moving forward on average, but at a slower and slower pace. As if people convince themselves they're being smart, and in the process they're just becoming more gullible. But then again that's just from my perspective, and since "useful" information is all about perspective, it becomes almost paradoxical to talk about
