Do not fall for the Smart Keyboard Folio meme. It's shitty, overly expensive and generally adds nothing of use to the iPad. Even the gestures at this point are faster than using keyboard shortcuts. Just get the normal Smart Folio.
Everything else about it is great.

the vast, overwhelming majority of Android devices have much much larger navigation strip with three buttons that you can't disable without rooting. Even Samsung phones have them now.
I honestly don't see how that's any better than iOS' home bar thing. at least with iOS' navigation bar it's tiny and you can see behind and around it. It doesn't really take up much space at all. With Android you basically have a huge black strip constantly taking up space at the bottom of the screen, and no one has ever really complained about that.
the ones that have capacitive buttons on the front below the screen are just the same too, because that space could easily be taken up by extra screen real estate

The 2018 iPad which is like 300€ or 350€ is probably the best technological purchase I've made in the last few years.
I never thought I wanted a tablet, but for the price, it works flawlessly. I've found a lot of uses for it round the house or when travelling. iOS is a dream after several years of Android. I seriously dare you to find a better tablet for this price range.
If I had any use for a Pro, I would upgrade without a doubt.
