Seeing how much supervised learning outperforms humans in image recognition, the advances of unsupervised learnings could be interesting to follow. An interesting idea would be to see how good unsupervised learning is at recognizing dog breeds, monkey species and so on, and if it gives promising results apply it to human pictures
