I'm very concerned about tampering (pic related) of items in-transit. I have been buying computer parts locally to minimize this risk since I imagine it would be very difficult for an adversary to target me specifically since buying locally means that the choice of particular part is largely random, and I doubt they would infect every single computer part in the whole country just for me.

Spearphishing is sending a message to one person supposedly from a person well known to the target, the message containing details relevant to the relationship, such as "spreadsheet with the electorate details we discussed on Wednesday" when intercepted email shows this indeed was discussed on Wednesday.
