There's no better option. Firefox works like shit on all my devices.

I'm using it now on a 12 year old Dell laptop running Debian, runs fine. I disabled hardware acceleration.

Also on a 5 year old Nexus 5 phone, runs fine.

Preinstalling shit in the OS doesn't make it not shit. Also decades of ActiveX exploits made people treat IE like AIDS.

and chrome was automatically installed along with installers for all kinds of other shit if you werent careful, it'd reset your preferences to make itself the deafult browser even if youd didnt want it.

- can't do what I want with it
- can't make it look the way I want it to look
- can't make it work the way I want it to work
- can't use the addons/extensions I want because nobody cares to port them over from the superior Firefox
- can't stop the fucking Download bar from appearing and make it disappear without having to resort to an addon/extension
- generally just not a good browser overall IMO but I know that's my own opinion and I'll stick to it

Firefox, even as it's slowly being mutilated by Mozilla, is still infinitely superior even in spite of the issues I have with it for my intents, purposes, and workflow.

1. comes packaged with a proprietary updater which can (and does) sideload whatever the fuck it wants
2. warranted privacy concerns and forced google integration which is worthless if you don't use google's services
3. limited user options and options decreasing incrementally. addons can only do so much.

those are my primary reasons anyway.
