The true GNU/Linux user stews in his own juices whilst compiling his own packages

How to post on 4channel directly from kernel?

>preferably one that looks like windows 7
WHY? IT ISN'T GOING TO WORK THE SAME. MY ADVICE IS TO USE SOMETHING THAT IS COMPLETELY ALIEN TO YOU. IT'LL BREAK YOU OF ALL YOUR RETARDED WINDOWS HABITS.

i just want a start menu that doesn't look like shit and literally nothing else
plus i don't want the jews to steal all my data
>IT ISN'T GOING TO WORK THE SAME
how's it going to work differently?
is it those things with the code and stuff
i just want a nice gui with some nice menus
btw i forgot to mention that i'm asking because i can't put windows 7 on this new laptop i bought

alpine linux

GNU/Linux can be customized and there's a variety of desktops available - on any distribution. None of them come with a theme that looks exactly like Windows 7 out of the box. All of them can be made to look like it. Of course, it won't work like Windows 7 since it's not.

Just install linux mint because it's designed to be easy for windows users to use

you sound like one of the anons who will be too overwhelmed by linux experience and after frustration from simple tasks using linux you will come here and make a thread making yourself look like a fool.

tl;dr stick to windows and cope with jews

>too overwhelmed by linux experience and after frustration from simple tasks using linux you will come here and make a thread making yourself look like a fool
please no bully user i'm knowledgeable not retarded
but i don't get it
i thought there were linux versions that are basically just windows at this point
i've used ubuntu and it was pretty simple

some people told me that these were good
>KDE neon
>Debian
>Gentoo
was i getting memed?

>user i'm knowledgeable not retarded
i meant i'm unknowledgeable not retarded

>i thought there were linux versions that are basically just windows at this point
>i'm not retarded
might be retarded at this point

trust me, stick to windows or try linux mint in virtual machine

but i'm telling you i've tried ubuntu in high school years back and it was just weird looking windows

try doing your daily tasks in linux mint in virtual machine
if it works for you, install it, pick cinnamon or KDE version

I bet you are using it in a virtual machine from Windows 10

also it's just a laptop i'll be using for browsing mongollian sheep herding enthusiast forums and uni shit
i doubt it'll be that hard

do not overestimate yourself

rude

install gentoo

apologize

The gentoo one is a meme. What i recommended is that you do some research to find something easy to start with like linux mint.

no
I will if you successfully use linux and won't make stupid threads about how you failed to do something basic because you were too retarded to use web search.

in another thread i got the same advice
installing neon on my usb now and i'll get mint next if i don't like neon
but the dude said that mint was hacked in the past and had some outdated shit

i'm putting neon on my usb right now faggot
watch me put it on and then apologize

come here when you'll be using linux arch as your main OS
yeah, I do use arch linux

>beginner friendly:
>debian
>ubuntu
>mint

But if you really want to actually learn something install arch. It's like gentoo only with better package manager and you don't have to compile everything.
Arch is pretty damn comfy once you get the hang of it, which btw happens faster than you'd think.

Linux Mint and play with themes
