>effortlessly outperformed by a $200 R580 in most games
And I'm supposed to give a shit about this card why exactly?

Typical AMD cope

Quads confirms.
AMDrones in damage control mode.

>non power of 2 memory sizes

NNNNYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHH

>THANK YOU BASED NVIDIA

I was hoping that GDDR5X clock that low would reduce power consumption, but no
not even that

and the most retarded post of the day goes to ...

>competition for the 590
>gets destroyed by it
>loses to half the games when compared to the 580
>actually more expensive
Dead on arrival. The only thing it is better at is power consumption, it's irrelevant in every other field. Only brain dead monkeys and fanboys will buy this.

He is cheaper

The MSRP for the 590 is about $20 more than this. You pay little more and give up some efficiency, and in turn get about 10% more performance, FreeSync, and 2GB more memory. Plus, I'm pretty sure they're still giving away 2 or 3 games with the 590, so you can sell those codes if you really want to get it even cheaper.
Really, unless you have some ravaging hate boner for AMD, this 1060 GDDR5X makes no sense.

It'll still sell like hot cakes because gamers are retarded

>Another 1060 in 2018

there will be actual people upgrading a 10603gb to this

What the fuck is this: techpowerup.com/reviews/KFA2/GTX_1060_6_GB_GDDR5X/31.html

This card is basically only neck and neck with the default GTX 1060 6gb. Whats the point?

The 44% memory overclock making it trounce the 590.

Nvidia had leftover GDDR5X memory chips and GP104's that binned bad. They put 2 and 2 together and the result is this.

>another gtx 1060
no really, i'm good thx

they trade blows, stupid. yeah overall the 580 is a better deal but some one wins some the other wins, the margins are not that great to claim one is faster
this gddr5x version is completely stupid tho, literally not performance nor power consumption gains.
fucking leather jacket man still trying to get rid of the returned crypto inventory shit. kys jensen! and take your awful marketing scum team with you!

nobody wants your 225w heater raj

It's not t-that bad! J-just undervolt

Attached: 01-Clock-Rate-vs-Power.png (889x669, 38K)

it spikes to fucking 300w for 1060 level performance jesus christ amd

oh wow muh faster memory

cant even beat 580

R580s regularly go on sale for 120-140

>amd is cheaper
yeah but nvidia better
>amd is better
yeah but nvidia is cheaper
>amd and nvidia are equal
yeah buts its nvidia it has cuda for games
>amd is more power efficient
yeah but nvidia better
>amd is more power efficient and faster
yeah but nvidia has cuda and you need that for gaming and photoshop
>amd is better but uses more power
yeah but nvidia uses less power and good enough performance. also did you know nvidia has cuda and you need that for gaming

So if you're willing to pay more, it trades blows with a RX 580 but uses 5/8th the power. And it overclocks better than a stock 1060.

Someone cares about this, but I sure as hell don't.

it's fucking nothing.

What a disappointment. It is just a crippled 1080 that Nvidia is trying to pawn off as "1060Ti". They didn't even bother to make it 2/3 or 3/4 of a GP104.

590 already crushes it. The GP106 isn't even memory bandwidth starved. It is shader/ROP limited. GDDR5X actually makes it worse since it has higher latency than GDDR5 and the silicon is too crippled to take advantage of the extra banwdith.

When has memory _ever_ consumed a non-negligible amount of power, on anything?

An 8GB DIMM pulls like 3 watts.

Cope harder, rajeesh
