Intel has had consistently anti-consumer business practices, and while AMD is not perfect, it has FAR fewer instances of shady business practices.

Intel and NVidia also pretty successfully convinces large swaths of people that ALL AMD products are inherently inferior which is obviously not true. AMD might not compete at the high end GPU market for now, but they are EXTREMELY competitive in the CPU market and now that is becoming obvious to everyone.
