every single person I know with a kindle just loads pirated .epubs with Calibre.

gen.lib.rus.ec

there you go

Downloading an ebook is one of the easiest things to do if you are a pirate.

Stripping the DRM out of a bought ebook is easy as fuck too.

Stop whining.

you're holding it wrong

I'm gonna get a Kubo Clara hd I hope its good fuck lending people things though they never treat your shit as if it were theirs.

Why do you have a Kindle you dumb cunt?

what is this?

>Have a book, bulky, expensive
>have technology, all the worlds libraries available for free instantly, on a device the size of a bank note

>decrypt book with calibre
>give copies to everyone

>download pdf/epub/whatever
>send email

Literally every book has a download

wow, that was hard.

why don't you get in and learn?

>have ebook, want to lend it to a friend
>thankfully I stripped the DRM off of it like any sane person would
>copy the file, load it onto their device
>we can both read the book

if ebooks were 50ct each, I couldn't care 2 shits paying for it

paying 20$ for a 1mb file you're going to read once feels weird.

That's why you buy a kobo

Think about who "our" refers to. There you have your answer.

That's not the point. The point is that it's easier to own a physical copy of a book if you want to lend it to a friend. You don't need to do anything, just give the book. OP's got a good point

you could also lend your ereader?

this, i`m Colombian and our culture almost demands piracy, why the fuck are you so cuck user? just download them, they are everywhere!!!

check mate

You'd lend your entire bookshelf.

>i cant lend an ebook
pirate them
>no, its about getting physycal one
then buy the fucking physical ones
what the fuck
are you so poor that you cant own moby dick in ebook and physical?

I pirate epubs all the time and it's fine as long as you can read English well enough.
Finding pirated versions of books in my native language is a whole different story though. Can't find shit 90% of the time. Not on libgen or #bookz at least.
Not that much of an issue for me since obviously I read most books in English anyway, but it does kind of suck a bit.

Lucky me here in Spain ebook piracy is off the fucking charts. I can find literally every book i want.

I suppose it would be kind of cool if you can use something like a NFC contact to "lend" a book to someone's kindle.

they need to purchase their own like a good goy.

>lend book to friend
>you now can't read the book until they give it back

>copy ebook to friend's device
>they never need to give it back

i ain't clicking that shit, nigga.

>"I've been reading this book, it's great. I'll go home and come back to hand it to you and then worry in the back of my mind if you'll ever return it"

"I've been reading this book, its great. I'll email you the PDF"

He overpaid for digital merchandise.

And then they can copy it for someone else and so on.

>>Sorry it's tied to your account and DRM'd
That's why you torrent all ebooks. If the man tries to fuck you then you fuck the man.

Hand the ereader to them, done

>Isn't technology supposed to make our lives better?

Only those who aren't stupid. I rip every ebook I get to .pdf (use whatever format you prefer) and share with my bros.

DRM is to ensure plebs pay for what patricians pirate and share.

>The point is that it's easier to own a physical copy of a book if you want to lend it to a friend.

It's easier and safer for your copy to give them an electronic copy and keep yours. Your friends have phones and computers (unless they are imaginary Luddite friends).

You are stupid because this thread isn't even a good troll.

Why not epub or mobi if you're an amazon cuck?

Meant to reply to

What's your native tongue, Gaylord?

d𝖆mmit

>Not using pirated epubs and/or stripping DRM from your purchases with Calibre/ApprenticeAlf's tools

>download MOBI and load it to your device
>send it to your friend
>you can now both read it at the same time

Wew, sure was hard.
When a physical copy of the book is the same price as a digital one, the distributors can go fuck themselves.

True, only a handful times I've had problems finding books in Spanish, mostly obscure non-fiction. Most fiction books are pretty easy to find in Spanish.

I can find pirated versions of Czech books just fine, but converting them to a Kindle compatible format is a fucking pain in the ass, since just about none of the programs are capable of dealing with the diacritics, not without some very convoluted settings and series of operations involving multiple programs.

But real books are a waste of space, a waste of paper, and a waste of manufacturing resources.

Only assholes buy books now because they think it makes them look smart.

if you want to support the author buy the book read it then donate it otherwise just pirate that shit if the author is dead

>>Have book, want to lend it to a friend
>>Hand it to them, done
>>Have ebook, want to lend it to a friend
>>just email him a link to my 5GB dropbox of epub files so he can have his complete pick of the litter

>sharing in PDF instead of free and open EPUB
I seriously hope you guys aren't this braindead

Any e-readers that don't call home?
>inb4 Oynx Boox

What's with the lazy reddit mentality lately? Copy pasting it into google would be faster than typing this and solving the captcha.
Every conversation is filled with dumb questions that give me eye cancer.
Are you that ignorant?

This is true, only it definitely makes me look smart.

T. Asshole

Are there any open source e-readers? Or has the e-ink Jew crushed all competition?

>get Amazon shit
>complain why it's shit on mongolian child raising forum

Pirate, you fool!
b-ok.org

Put said book on his email or share your account.

>buy something for yourself so you can give it to someone else
This is your mind on cuck porn

Dutch

You forgot the part where the lent book comes back with covered in dorito cheese, ripped pages, water damage, and a broken seam with pages falling out. Or god forbid kids drawing shit on them.

There used to be shitloads of dutch ebooks on usenet. I don't have usenet anymore so I can't check though.

>Only assholes buy books now because they think it makes them look smart.
nothing wrong with that, it werks

This
Girl comes over for the first time, sees I only have 10 books and thinks I am stupid, even though I have read hundreds of ebooks.
And you look like an actual autist if you sperg out and show her your ebook library(know it from experience)

>He doesn't buy a new e-reader for each ebook in his library

Attached: .jpg (720x960, 189K)

But I could carry 10 big books though.

>Isn't technology supposed to make our lives better?
If both of you rent the book [we should prohibit "buy" from ever being used for this kind of transaction], you make Amazon's and the book owner's life better.
