Fuck it, I'm gonna install it

fuck it, I'm gonna install it

for safety just do it on Vbox

also fuck you for this
[obvious trolling]

make sure to get systemd

just kidding, guys, I won't

You mad bastard

install gentoo, fucking coward

if you want easy mode install use Clover OS and switch to source afterwards.

installing gentoo is easy though

unironically this, systemd just werks

Yes, but initially configuring everything is tedious as fuck. The defaults on Clover are pretty much what everyone on Jow Forums is going to be using anyway.

So does openrd

Literally the only hard part is the kernel configuration
And Jow Forums LARPers just use genkernel anyways

openrc tries way too hard to be systemd and its being actively sabotaged (just search "openrc controversy" or something like that)
at that point, why not use the real full fledged deal? no sysadmin got fired for using systemd

OpenRC is buggy garbage, use systemd.

t. Gentoo user of 13 years.

There is no reason not to use Genkernel.

Don't. It's a meme, your're not suppoused to actually install it

if you take out the compiling it's like arch

That's exactly what Doug used to say.
See you later, new Doug!

its 2018, there is no reason to not have at least a terminal installer.

Does Clover OS offer encryption by default?

no
no
true
no

faggot

>openrc tries way too hard to be systemd
Quite literally false. It's not even comparable.

>its being actively sabotaged (just search "openrc controversy" or something like that)
There was only some pro-systemd guy a couple years ago who was accused of doing that, but the commits were never ultimately determined to be "sabotage".
And even if they were, that would just be another reason to avoid systemd.

>no sysadmin got fired for using systemd
No one got fired for using Windows either.

install Linux from scrach + write your own package manager faggot.

>gentoo user for 13 years
>pic related is unironically equivalent to writing an ebuild for getting the latest pandoc in his mind
>after 13 years of using gentoo
Tripfags are just retarded, OP, ignore them.

>he unironically needs a package manager to hold his hand

I find your lack of Slackware disturbing..

Looks like we got another one into the meme

>distro hop for years
>get """meme'd""" by Jow Forums into Install Gentoo
>it's a slow and tedious learning experience but unironically the best thing i've ever used in the end
>never looked back
Thanks, based Jow Forums.

based
also based

I'm using genkernel-next with my own config. No reason not to.

>openrc tries way too hard to be systemd
Wat. No, it's been doing what it does since before systemd, upstart and so on.

It's basically been on that path since it was still baselayout, it only became openrc in name later.

That said, I personally prefer systemd for a few reasons, but openrc would do the job, too.

Slackware is shitty ancient garbage and your touting of its lack of a package manager as some kind of advantageous feature is absolutely bewildering.
CHANGE MY MIND

fuck off chiruno. fix your fucking installer.

Good luck and godspeed.

I put Gentoo on everything

Attached: 20181208_133146.jpg (4160x3120, 863K)

Put it in your ass.

don't. just don't. you'll get both the gay and the autism

good goy get brainwashed

You are no man if you can't Install Gentoo properly...

Attached: 1531400686092.jpg (300x250, 47K)

I can't, you're right
that's no gentoo absolute retard

this. Gentoo is worth the initial weeks/months of tinkering. Once you get everything setup the way you like, you barely ever have to configure anything and just update every few weeks. And you'll never have to compromise and use something you don't want, because you chose and compiled everything exactly as you wanted from the start.

I literally didn't change any kernel configuration and it just worked.
