topres are cute!

take a good hard look at your life if you are still cuteposting in almost 2019

Hey keyboard nerds, what's this keyboard?

Attached: knuth keyboard.jpg (1639x2048, 713K)

Some dogshit logitech rubber dome.

actually that's the result of an experiment gone wrong in my lab, I tried to transform cancer cells into a keyboard
i guess you could say it was successful

what model

G6130

G19.

ah, alright, thanks
do any of these hotswap keyboards have drivers/manager programs that work with gnu/linux? for things such as rgb control

Attached: 1539895713520.jpg (474x355, 33K)

How much would you guys say a used but like-new cherry mx brown cm quickfire tk is worth?

Attached: 1526972940549.jpg (761x495, 54K)

About 70% of the msrp, give or take.

>pre-retool Cherry MX
>browns at that
It's shit

thanks

i know, trying to get rid of it and I will buy a new one with clicky switches, was thinking about box whites or gateron blues

GK61 does, not sure about the others

i really don't want a 60%, do you know any good hotswap tenkeyless/full? i'll even settle for no drivers

GMMK I guess

isn't that a literal reddit meme
but if the quality's good

Attached: 1525037521397.jpg (396x385, 31K)

It's one of very few options, unless you can find one of those assdrop boards

What's the quick answer for the best non-meme keyboard, or is everybody just building their fucking own these days. I'd be down for that, I just don't see what the benefits would be.

Attached: Dell_L100.jpg (1600x740, 141K)

Okay, a little bit more meme than that...

Attached: k120-refresh-gallery-images[1].png (800x687, 305K)

would you recommend it? i heard people saying some hotswaps have wobbly switches

It's great to get a feel for different switches, though something custom-built to your own specifications will beat it in feel.
Use it to try out a bunch of switches, then buy or build your own endgame board with your favorite(s).

Logitech G15 gen 1 aka the ultimate gamer keyboard

user build your self one but don't put the diodes in serial.

but muh keyboard still works! muh voltages!! i'm gonna ask for advice yet keep thinking my own ignorant thing!

no bully my voltages user, you know that its going to work out well

>realforce R2 has been out for several months
>still no mention whatsoever of ISO models coming out soon
JUST

Attached: I live with it.png (468x431, 185K)

who cares that keyboard is shit anyway.
let me know when realforce comes out with a new split keyboard

I'm unironically thinking about getting a Logitech G513. Is it any good? I don't need a bunch of stupid hotkeys and shit, I just want a nice, simple layout with a backlight. Price isn't an issue, but obviously I'm not going to spend more than $500 for a keyboard or some shit.

Had some POS SteelSeries before now (been a few months, stuck with a laptop chicklet nightmare right now).

I'm typing on a GK64 and while maybe there is a slight wobble compared to soldered switches, it isn't significant and the convenience far exceeds the drawback of a slight not more wobble, especially if it's your first mech.

Stop being a tryhard. uwu

not my first mech, i have one with mx browns now(i know...)

These V2 Zealios are as tactile as Jades but without the noise. Very neat

It's been did.
I hope they won't mess with the order and it will arrive soon.

yiikes

great website, thanks

can you stop being a nigger and just tell me if I made a good buy already?

no problem, as far as prebuilts go I've heard the Varmilo VA88M is almost TOTL.

Attached: 1524068150541.jpg (250x250, 31K)

You bought an overpriced mid range keyboard. I'd hardly call that a good buy. Also if you wanted a white keyboard then why didn't you buy the white version of said keyboard?

I couldn't find the white version of it anywhere.

As for the overpriced part, it was actually quite cheap compared the other boards I was looking at, it was very close between that Varmilo VA88M but I ultimately went with the Ducky because because the Varmilo either had insane shipping times or was £30+ more and I already bought a replacement keycap set (in all of the reviews I read about the Ducky, the biggest problem were the keycaps QC).

It's still early enough for me to cancel the order if there's anything big that I haven't mentioned.

Attached: 1515582836641.png (542x540, 226K)

no, as i said

kustompcs has them for cheaper. It's an okay keyboard, but you paid to much for it

It's the same price and out of stock there, trying to buy a mechanical keyboard in the UK depressing tbqh

keeb.io's look cute

it looks too rectangular to be comfortable with those key positions
consider something similar to pic related

>godspeed in PBT
huh, I might actually buy it since it'll last more than a month.

I used sandpaper on mine to create this
took me a few hours

If you're asking whether you should jump on the assdrop listing or not, just go for it. At worst you'll be able to resell them for the same as what you paid, because rare meme switch.

Is it effective? Can you post pics?

Some old Targus one

Any ideas?

boy that took forever

Hello fellas, replacing my old ducky shine 2014 keyboard with a new one since theyre the best quality ones ive bought so far. Which of these three do you all recommend?

mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3485
mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3568
mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=3483

thanks for the link

None of those. Also avoid ducky dye-sub keycaps since they suck ass. I've had nothing but problems with their sets fading away.

isn't there a place to buy these, sanding them would take forever

i'll sell you my cm quickfire tk with browns for 60 gbp

I got a $50 gift card to best buy from some lady for helping her fix her printer.

What keyboard from their limited shit selection would you recommend? They have razer, logitech, corsair, etc.

Logitech - G613
>only $64
>hate wireless shit
>heard that romer-g is shitty to use.

Corsair - K68
>$69
>hate RGB shit and is only red RGB on top of that
>stupid metal texturing on the space key. I don't want to have to go and buy some new caps.

Attached: image0.jpg (750x468, 58K)

I can only find the inverse version (translucent sides, opaque top), so I thing DIYing it might be the only option.
I wouldn't say it'll take forever though, far from it.

the guy in the video said he did it in the course of a few days, he did it with 5 different sandpaper grits though

>>hate RGB shit and is only red RGB on top of that
Are you retarded?

yes, hence why I'm trying to buy a mechanical keyboard from BestBuy.

Guess what I mean is if I'm gonna have to put up with RGB shit, I'd at least like the option to mess around with it for 15 minutes making it do crazy shit until I just set all of them to white.

Some best buys sell Ducky keyboards. you can check there if you want

If it's just red it's not RGB you absolute brainlet.

>teaching brainlets
you're supposed to let them be stupid as long as possible to provide entertainment

Thought RGB stood for Really Good (B)Lights

Attached: 0524201800001.jpg (640x666, 34K)

That would be nice. Are they only in store? I can't find them online.

It depends on your location. But I've seen them in my best buy

poker 3 came today. Programmed layer 2 to be basically the same as my KB Paradise. Now i need to find some new keycaps. The only purple i can find is more like lavender rather than a royal purple

Attached: IMG_20181219_125531 (1).jpg (4608x2112, 1.15M)

He's not wrong. Trying to say a keyboard is or isn't mechanical is stupid. Just say what kind of mechanism it uses.

I actually loved this keyboard, until I spilled milk all over it

Pretty much, it's why trying to stick to just one of the definitions he outlines breaks down.

Why cant i find something exactly like this but with dark grey or black instead of white. I dont really want to buy two different sets of caps.

Attached: whywhite.png (1104x455, 126K)

Just contact the seller, usually they're quite flexible and can sell any configurations. Worked for me when I ordered some DSA keycaps.

Oh i didnt consider that, ill give that a try. Hopefully there decent enough caps

shit took me literally all day. gonna switch caps and program it tomorrow

Attached: IMG_20181219_220238~01.jpg (1280x960, 277K)

So the massdrop holy meme switch samples arrived, and they're legit. Time to get in on the buy myself I suppose.

topclack.com/textclack/2018/12/19/holy-panda-switches-new-and-old-by-quakemz

What took so long? Did you lube your switches today too?

yeah that was me

How do they feel compared to royals/novelias? Boc Novelias are currently my favorite tactile switch

The bump would be much rounder, and the magnitude of the bump won't be as great. Just compare this to the box royal force graph.

Why is the 1800 layout not more popular?

because 96key is superior
