Why the fuck would Chrome devs REMOVE the ability to mute individual tabs?
>well teknickly you can still mute tabs you just have to go in and change a setting and then you can right click and choose it from a drop down menu INSTEAD OF JUST CLICKING THE SPEAKER WHICH WAS SO HANDY AND INTUITIVE, IT'S MUCH BETTER THIS WAY ISN'T IT?
I love auto play videos. I don’t want to read some boring egghead article - just give me the video. Plus throw in a funny ad or two, just icing on the cake.

were you caught watching peepees again

wasnt it always like this? maybe your brother set it up while he was spanking his monkey on your laptop.

Why would you use Chrome?
Gavin Wright
>still using chrome based browser use FF ESR

this tbqh desu
Jaxson Turner
Because when the tab is pinned it's difficult to select it without using tab scrolling. If you want to enable the functionality use #enable-tab-audio-muting
Julian Flores
Chrome 71 here. Seems like they removed the option from flags.
>well teknickly you can still mute tabs you just have to go... You can't anymore, they removed the flag on the yesterday's update. Same with the old theme. I just switched to Opera and I'm wondering why I haven't done this before.
Now open another tab with the same address, both are muted. They mute by domain, not by tab.
Jaxson Ortiz
jewgle is worse.
Benjamin Morales
ahh i see what youre saying. wtf
Gabriel Hill
Fuck Chrome, came here to see if there was any fix for this.
Isaac Hernandez
Browser development is a race to the bottom. Also google is an ad company and being able to handily see which tab is blasting you with advertising could hurt their margins.
Connor Phillips
chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting
restart.
You're welcome.
Jonathan Richardson
>flash Cringe, chrome did the right thing there
Daniel Hill
they destroyed the other browser market, so it's time to remove all the features for anything nice and add more spyware and laugh.
Cooper Murphy
>implying chrom* is better in any way other than spying
Jose Cruz
Have you tried seeing if you can re-enable the feature through chrome flags.
You deserve it for using Chrome, you stupid bitch.
Luke Walker
So I don't come to this board very often, but after using a few browsers I settled on Chrome, but it seems like there is some stigma against it. What is the Jow Forums approved browser?
Nolan Wilson
Because you gotta listen to those autoplay video ads goy, like it or not.
Andrew Bell
>mozilla is sjw, use google the absolute state of Jow Forumsg/
Yes, you could. Then they removed the feature and made it only available through a flag, now they removed the flag too.
Nolan Parker

I think Firefox is far-and-away better than other browsers. But "Jow Forums approved browser" doesn't mean anything, use the product that works best for you.
Noah Sanders
I use the Auto Mute addon in Firefox. Every tab created is muted until I un-muted it. The comfiest of extensions.
Justin Sullivan

Current tech world thinks its never a good idea to make useful, features-filled UIs. Sometimes they will code a nice feature but realize it's way too convenient so they remove it. Idk why don't ask me. I just want to nuke the silicon valley and begin a witch hunt against every basedboy/trannies that works here.
see Win10 volume mixer.
Justin Murphy
>see Win10 volume mixer What happened in Win10 with the volume mixer?
Brandon Brooks
It was removed from the taskbar and is now in a control panel module. Also the interface is less convenient to use now.
Robert Ward
>It was removed from the taskbar and is now in a control panel module Meh, irrelevant for me, I run sndvol32.exe using my own volume slider.
>Also the interface is less convenient to use now. Example?
David Garcia
>Example? win10 fanboy detected. admit it, microsoft is ruining their own products.
Owen Hughes
See that shit at the top? That's where I launch my volume mixer at by clicking the speaker icon. Unless they removed sndvol32.exe in Windows 10, I couldn't care less that it became unavailable through the taskbar.
Show me proof that it became "less convenient to use" and I'll just add it to the list why I will never upgrade to 10, but if you're just nitpicking then fuck you.
They removed the flag the hid close buttons on inactive tabs too. The recent version release is a shitshow.
Lucas Lewis
Werks on my chromuim
Cooper Nelson
Just right click and speaker icon and click Volume Mixer? It's the same as always.
Jayden Long
No reason to use Firefox over Waterfox.
Parker Harris
>it's open source, you can change it if you really really want it- But then what you have is effectively a fork, and you can no longer install updates without pulling+merging changes and recompile every single time. It's untenable for personal use.
"It's open source, you can change it" is such a shitty argument. Yes, it works for very small, infrequently modified software. It's not possible with monstrosities like Chrome.
Michael King
Disable this chrome://flags/#sound-content-setting and you can mute single tabs in the same domain.

Plebs accidentally clicked the speaker when they actually wanted to either close the tab or change to it and then they filed bug reports that "Da YouTube no work, it ain't be outputtin' sound,OW HEILL NAW how Is I supposed to hear muh rap now?"
