How well does it emulate PS3 games?

it cant

they run top speed in 4k with custom texture packs but you have to buy 2 of them

Oh. That's a shame. How about PSP games?

>ps3
wehat the fuck lol

It can run PS4 games natively but it doesn't have backwards compatibility with PS3

Ps1 games is going to be the best you can do. If you want something more powerful you may have to use your Jow Forums/porn box.

Poorly, if at all.
Just had a quick look at a few emus and they ask for a minimum of a Haswell/Ryzen 1 CPU
Should be okay for that, people use Pi Zeros for that and those are equivalent of early gen Raspberry Pis

It chugs on most N64 games, and can't run most PS2 games. Using my amazing brain power I will assume that this means it can't run PS3 games at all. If you want a cheap, tiny machine to run PS1, or earlier games, but I'd not buy one if you don't already have a good rig, they are more of a "Hook up to my TV, so I don't have to bother with cords/wireless setups, or set up as a present to kids since they can't buy there own shit" sort of deal.

Are you fucking retarded?

PS1 is the maximum it can do. Even then, you need a Model 3 B or B+ otherwise the frame rate in most games is subpar.

What the fuck dude
Some of the less optimized PS3 games require a pretty good modern desktop to hit a solid 30 fps, and use multiple GB of RAM to do it. Not to mention GPU.

Just buy a ps3...

Great analogy, well put.
I like it

Funniest thing I've read in a while thanks OP

Quite well, the emulator has some bugs but expect a solid 55-60fps

get an android box

way better than a raspi for games and media

Unironically better than a Pi.

You need a good desktop to even handle ps3 emulation OP

It barely runs a handful of games

my i3 first gen laptop struggles with PSP imagine that thing

Both have no games so it's perfect.

You can barely emulate PS3s with good x86 rigs, what makes you think a Pi could?

>i3
BAHAHAHAHA. Fucking cpulet faggot.

but can it run battle toads?

Don't listen to these idiot assholes user. They don't know how to overclock the pi, I myself can run most games at a solid 60+ fps on the pi. See the attached screenshot for proof.

If you want to do the same, there are about 3 steps you need to do. First, you're going to want to make sure your pi is squeaky clean, can't have dust getting into the internals and slowing it dow. A good scrub with some lukewarm water, and morning-fresh should do the trick. Then your going to want to charge up the capacitors to 100%. The best way to do this is in the microwave. Thankfully, capacitors charge up pretty quick, so about 2 minutes on high should be enough. You NEED to do this user, because the normal power supply doesn't charge up the capacitors quickly enough, meaning your CPU doesn't get the power it needs straight away. Then, this final step is only for longevities sake, and is not strictly necessary, but I would highly recommend it. Dip or cover your pi entirely with non-conductive hot-glue (or playdough, or something similar if you don't have any). This really ensures no dust will ever get into the device. Don't worry, microwaves can pass through plastics, so you can still charge your capacitors.

Once you've done all that user, follow the usual steps for installing PS3 emulators and you're good to go! Godspeed user, godspeed!

The PS-Triple has no games

You can run Doom on it but that's about it.

checked

>literally being mad over a comment on the internet

at about 0.00001 frames per year.

>literally proving my point

go be 12 somewhere else faggot

retarded zoomers are fucking insufferable

>t. OP?

>ps3 emulation
Is this even possible with x86?

C'mon now...

You can get as high as PS1 games but that's it.
You're the kind of fucking child who thinks they can play GTA5 on Android.

Druggie.

brb I'm gonna snorted a ground-up copy of Rascal Racers

>How well does it emulate PS3 games?
A real PS3 would probably blow a Pi the fuck out. Those things are weak as all shit.

and if you want to increase the stability of your overclock a good trick is to charge your capacitors on the flyback transformer in a crt. that's exactly how the crt is able to display a stable picture - the display is just a capacitor itself but it's bigger so it needs more charge to work right. but the caps on your pi are much smaller so the charge will last MUCH longer

PSP is easy as hell to emulate, they're on par with PS1's.

>ps3
Never ever going to happen
As far as emulating anything else just buy a fire stick, preferably the 4k, and an otg cable for a usb controller. Pis are stupid

I doubt it can handle PS2 emulation.

fuck off

I meant "emulating anything _reasonable_". Everyone knows a non-x86 or 64 system currently could not do ps2. Shit, x86/64 can barely even do ps2 consistently as it stands

You'll have to compile the emulator yourself, you'll be lucky to get 1 frame per minute, and 66% of all games, particularly the later ones, aren't currently possible to emulate at all.
Last time I heard, something like The Last of Us being able to reach the health warning was a huge accomplishment.

Hahaha oh fucking wow

Why do you think emulation is magic

you could cook toads in it.

You can literally get a PS3 cheaper than a Pi

I have three, two I acquired for free.

One cost me £12.

Look for one with a broken blu ray on firmware 4.82 or lower. You can play games fine from the hdd or usb when you upgrade it to 4.82 CFW. Then put the "no blu ray" version of Rebug on it.

Shit I've been wanting to get into the PS3 CFW scene, didn't realize it was so cheap now. I've been fuckwing with my PS2 lately. Just got PS2SMB configured for OpenPS2Loader a few months ago. Also recently found out you can use DS3 and 4 controllers over USB and Bluetooth (via USB Bluetooth adapter) for PS2 games now

Good to know Jow Forums falls for obvious bait.

That ad made my day.
