Can we all agree Beyers are just fun? For me, headphones that are fun provide a better listening experience than those who claim "accuracy" like the HD600s.

Reminder that there are headphones actually worth their price tag unlike the vast majority of mid and high-fi snake oil.
They're made from high materials and have amazing build quality, the manufacturer didn't cut any corners to save a few pennies. They aren't made in a Chinese sweatshop but handcrafted by white people.
They're sturdy yet beautiful and pleasant to hold.
They won't snap on you, electrocute you or fill your ears with mud.
They're comfortable and sit tightly without being vice grips.
They actually use somewhat recent and in-house technology in their drivers.
Their sound is extremely precise and revealing yet not dreadfully veiled and boring. The lows have impact, the mids are clear and the highs are energetic, the soundstage is reasonably big but doesn't compomise other fields. They respond very well to EQ so you can tune them to your liking.
They don't need a special meme amplifier just to work.
They come with two detachable cables, two sets of pads and a carrying case, all of high quality.
The warranty of two years is enough to rule out driver failures and other defects, which happen once in a blue moon because the manunfacturer does extensive QC.
Getting replacement parts is easy, they're available everywhere.
Their price is affordable, fair and they're worth every penny. You don't have to go through loops just to purchase them.

They both have a spike at 8k, but the treble overall is way flatter on the DT880. Also, mids and bass seem a bit bloated on the DT 1990.

There's a capacitive touch sensor built in the housing of the right ear driver, swipe in respective directions to skip/change vol. Double tap the side to play/pause.

I pause music to take it off to wear on my neck and then my jawline accidentally touches it and makes it play music again.

I guess they want you to keep the headphones on and use their ambient sound setting but it's second nature to me

Yeah, especially after reading amir's review of the Audio-gd R2R DAC.Apparently despite the dreadful measurements, the difference wasn't major enough to be immediately obvious without critical listening.

I'm convinced that the only legitimate reason for a DAC upgrade is for more input/outputs, and nothing else.
