I'm about to change motherboard and CPU for the first time under Windows 10 and it's likely going to ask me to re-activate it. The problem is that it's kind of pirated. I say kind of because I had a pirated Windows 7 but when it upgraded to Win10 it somehow became legit (god knows how). I'm totally willing to buy a legit one at this point but the thing is I don't want to format everything and reinstall it. What do?

If you don't even know all the software you have you don't need it all. You'll try to do something one day and you won't be able to and you'll remember the software you need at the time. Use ninite and/or kill yourself.

Windows has a serial saved (I think in the registry) which you can retrieve and save to a file. I saw a program for that for W7. You can use that serial to reactivate it again. If this fails, just install a cracked W7 again and downgrade it to W10.
If you're switching platforms, be sure to reinstall.

Why the fuck do you need a legit Win 10 install? Just pirate the enterprise edition that lets you activate via crack. Most torrented versions are pre-cracked anyway.
