Someone should hack the site and put a tux logo there with a blunt that would be epic

tux only does lines of cocaine exclusively

epic ftw

Linus ownership of linux kernel is to be trasnfered at once to Coraline Ada Ehmke, true savior of open source.

is this bait?

what do you think?

That's very low quality for a bait. Maybe user is a troll junior.

I'm getting serious deja vu reading this message. I feel like I've seen 50 different Linus rants on not breaking userspace. I barely even know what userspace is, and even I know not to break it. But people keep doing it.

It means that APIs must never be broken, and must be maintained for ever.

kernel devs are allowed to break API if no one notices it

Obviously it was not serious and obviously it was not a troll
maybe you should learn about sarcasm, here the link:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcasm

Linus was never as serious about code quality compared to say theo. All linus wanted was that there were no regressions and userspace is never broken. As long as the kernel doesn't cause a problem for any programs, linus is happy.

if no one notices it, did it happen?

Userspace = pretty much all the other proggies besides the kernel. They must not break just because the kernel got rewritten.

works on my machine

Based Linus Tech Tips

We're fucked when he retires for good, aren't we

based

Do you know how stupid that looks with a picture?

Guys I think I downloaded a bad version because I keep getting kernel panic :(

How did you configure it?

Android and GNU are userspaces for Linux.

So will this cure the systemd cancer?

Linus is back, and now my OS can go to sleep. I'm glad he's back.

best thread on Jow Forums right now

The newest nvidia drivers are messed up in my gentoo laptop, udev keeps consuming all the cpu and I can't even kill the process, so no new kernel for me.

>The newest nvidia drivers
wut? are you blob lover?

wut? are you a lag lover?

Is t420 with coreboot and 4.20 kernel the most BASED system ever?

pray for his well being then

good fucking read

This

We did it, everyone! We saved Christmas!

Nigger

IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

>there are no user space bugs. If it used to work, then user space was clearly doing the right thing.
I've always had a lot of respect for linus, but that's just outstanding. What a professional, and what an excellent philosophy.

MY GOD MAN LOOK AT YOUR DIGITS

santa came to Jow Forums early this year

The dankest

absolutely blessed

Where can we ever find another person as based as Linus Torvalds?
Checking mr. Quintin Tarantino here while we're at it

Well I guess that's settled.

is LSD day

>make program that communicates with the kernel
>provide additional program that patches the first one when it detects a newer or different kernel installed with the appropriate new system calls
Pffft nothing personel, ring 3 developers.

lmao

Nawww, it makes me so happy to see that! All the best to him!

Attached: linus-2.jpg (575x467, 228K)

How long did it take with that CPU, or are you cross compiling?

About 3 to 4 hours

That's honestly much better than I was expecting.
