Why does Jow Forums need multiple monitors?

So I can watch two pornos at once, what are you, fucking retarded?

I have moved from two 24inch 1080ps to a single 27inch 1440p

Play video games on one monitor, watch video game stream on the other

I don't have a monitor as wide as a football field like the one in OP's.

backup/redundancy

I use 3 for video editing. Center monitor holds the timeline, left for file picker and media editor, and right for full screen preview. I'd like to get a forth to keep the video event/keyframe tool on. Don't get how people live with one monitor.

That guys monitor is clearly either 4k or 2k based off how much he has up and the size of it.
The whole "multi-monitors is a meme" is a meme because you don't look at the resolution these people use and then you compare them to 1080p peasants. Using a single 1080p monitor is suffering and I don't blame anyone buying more than one to make it management.

1 monitor for work shit, another for 4channel. I can't do it on one because

vertical screen for reading more than half a page

>mx518
Absolutely based.

Because 3 generic fhd monitors are cheaper(or used to be) than single fhd+ monitor.

A single large non 16:9 high resolution monitor is nice but they are rare.

Nobody needs more than a single monochrome 9" display.

>need
What a funny word.

No multiple workspaces on windows

>Windows
Why?

to stream

I actually do things instead of just 'being rich'

Windows has workspaces.

Useful for artists and fapping to multiple pics at once.

Watch movie on one, do other shit on the other.

One to watch anime, one to shitpost, browse, etc

To stream snipe forsaaan.
This.

Who the fuck are you to tell me what I do and don't "need"? I *like* having multiple monitors, I don't need to justify anything to you.

It's an economical method of increasing screen size without changing pixel density.
If I'm doing 3d work, I can look at general references in one monitor, and work in another, without having to toggle visibility between applications. I can put the actions per minute I would have lost from constantly switching applications into the work that I can see constantly, allowing for a higher quality of work, at a faster rate.
This can't be solved by tiling the windows, as the interface for my 3d application is large, and needed.
This also can't be solved by getting a monitor of a higher pixel density, as it would be very uncomfortable being close enough to the screen to make it worth it.
Thus, I have multiple monitors.

Full stack dev reporting in. Frontend stuff is really annoying on 1 monitor. Need 1 monitor for ide/editor + another for the web page + dev tools. Nice workflow with hot reloading and what not. See changes reflected immediately and debug in browser if necessary.

If you want to have a chat open to bs with coworkers or friends on top of that then you are at 3 monitors.

DESU idk
Been thinking about ditching my other monitor

I've ditched my second monitor, using keyboard to switch windows now. Less movement, straight neck
