this, but I've had some cases that don't even have drive trays, just screw in the hdd under the 5.25 (pic relate). In retrospect I would've spent a little more so he can service it easier (or maybe a prebuilt if some come out with standard PSUs) but it was for a friend and he was paying so w/e

Actually kinda nice if you like green.

>No optical drive
Worthless trash.

Optical media is going the way of the floppy. If you have to use it, there are plenty of external USB disc drives available.

Attached: s-l300.jpg (300x300, 14K)

Access times can quadruple with external storage. Enjoy having a blazing fast OS that does everything instantly running from an M.2 SSD, except when you cause all your external drives to rev up, at which point it fucking stalls for over 10 seconds.

can that thing walk?

That's not a case, that's a bench.

>redpilled
>greencase
I like it

really good

The only mITX case that supports an appropriately sized custom loop, has a hot swap bay and an ODD slot for you fossils out there still using an ODD, or for additional storage once you get rid of the hard drive cage for the aforementioned custom loop.

That makes no sense at all. Are you on drugs?

at first I thought that was some furry kink toy until I noticed the hotdog

>makes no sense at all
Ok, here is a retard friendly version:

Whenever you:
- open a load/save dialogue window, regardless of your default paths
- access a list of all your drives
- run an installer
- queue up a torrent for downloading
- try to access any file located at one of those external drives
etc.

... your fucking computer hangs until all drives have spun up and are ready for doing their shit. This takes longer on external drives than internal ones, that's a fucking fact.

So basically whenever either you or your OS wants to access those external drives, your computer just fucking stalls for up to a quarter of a minute, even if those external drives are HDDs. If you had all those drives on internal ports, this would be no longer than 8 seconds, 3-4 seconds if you have less drives. This is my own fucking experience with external ODD and USB 3.1 HDD bays alike.

>letting your drives spin down
>ever

You can't prevent external drives from spinning down. Pic related doesn't do shit for external drives.

Attached: screenshot_26.png (469x494, 83K)

I haven't used an optical in ten years. We have had digital media for far too long.

>case is only about cosmetics
yikes

I unironically like that thing.

It's just so fucking huge and plasticky its worthless.

>you can't prevent external drives from spinning down
retard alert

Haven't found a better case

Radiators for water cooling always make me wonder. If you have a radiator, why put it in such a place that all warm air from it goes right into the computer? Is there an efficient case designed for water cooling?

PC cases are not redpilled you shit

The warm air gets pulled right out again by exhaust fans. You can of course set up the radiator to exhaust instead, but it's usually of more benefit to give it the coolest air first since it's cooling the CPU (or GPU).

Wouldn't it be the best to mount the radiator sideways so that it gets fresh air and pushes the warm air out? But fuck, that needs space on both sides of the case and people like to put a PC next to something. We need to redesign PCs (or just motherboards and cases actually) to make it more efficient.

The Silverstone TJ07 does that, and it's been around since 2006.

We surely could make it smaller with the right layout. It's cool nevertheless.

Designed before Corsair went full retard with RGB/Tempered glass

Im a huge zalman fan. Didn't know they are still in the game..

Well, I bought that case two years ago, but I do not intend to use a different case unless I switch form factors.

Ghost s1

3 dvd rom??

Cerberus. Designed and manufactured in the US with high-quality dense-as-hell steel, with thick aluminum panels to further reinforce it. One of the best designs out there for mATX and ATX builds.

Attached: image1.jpg (2257x2257, 1.79M)

I like the inwin d-frame

I agree. I've had this idea for a while of a new layout standard that'd be smaller, cheaper to manufacture, and very easy to cool. CPU on the mainboard, M.2 storage on the side facing the PSU, give the CPU 24cm of vertical space (imagine a 240mm tall air cooler), and stick any expansion (GPU, hard drives) above the 24cm space. Easy to manufacture, easy to understand, good airflow, good aesthetics, it'd satisfy everyone. But breaking ATX would be incredibly hard to sell to consumers.

Attached: new layout.png (400x800, 62K)

after many benchmarking testing, it's proven that the correct method is to mount the radiator at the front as in intake. that way the radiator gets cool air and pushes the heat inside the case for the top/rear fans to exhaust.

That's an awful long distance between the GPU and the motherboard, the PCIe bus won't like that. You'll run into timing problems with newer revisions of PCIexpress.

Also the GPU needs room for cooling, and it doesn't look like there's a lot there.

winner coming through

So you bought an overpriced version of a 13 year old case with some cosmetic mods huh? Cool.

Actually, I'm surprised you were even able to buy one; I remember them being vaporware status for years and years. Kind of amazing they're still around.

this is how much I care

Because wood retains heat really well, so the temperatures are shit.

Not if it's properly ventilated, like the pic you're replying to does. 120mm front intake, 120mm radiator out. It's a beautiful, functional, and probably dead silent case, since wood also absorbs vibrations much better than metal does. Assuming he's not using shit like deltas or something, his temperatures and noise must be pretty damn good.

Wood is amplifying vibrations. Have your PC tower on your desk, I guarantee you it will make more noise than by itself on the floor.

I really dig this guys furniture.

>CD player on the front

now that's what I call A E S T H E T I C

*CD drive

The cheapest ATX case that has enough airflow for all your needs, future or past.

HAF X still going strong with no repairs or maintenance for the past 9 years. Not really any space for adding MORE fans but the ones it has do the job and buying it when it was £80 as opposed to the £200 something today means its a bargain.

But if I was forced tommorow to buy a new one, I'd buy whatever 3 front fan bay/2 rear fan bay case would fit my build. Preferably one that had good quality silent fans by Silentium or came without the fans installed so I can bare bones it.

this because I'm not a 13 year old retard who likes le epic RGB lights

Corsair 900D

i used to work in a PC repair and these are a fucking joke. These retards would put 1080s on 350w-500w PSU. Saw a lot of power supplies and cards get bricked

came here to post this.

pick all of them

>>I'm not a retard
>>I'm a retard

u wot

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a GTX 1080 on a 500W power supply. You amerisharts would put 1 kilowatts under a fucking toaster.

Pic related.
