Are there any phones that can run a h264 encoded MKV at 1920x1080 without stutters?

I tried watching Dragon Maid on an S8 on hardware and software rendering.
There is no excuse for Qualcomm to continue making mobile GPU's
that cannot render MKV's efficiently.

Its from little witch academia...

Why 1080p? Is anime native at that res now, or do they still upscale? Anyway, if you're watching styled subs, that might be the problem.

This issue when I turn off the subtitles in MX Player Pro.
It also happens in other modern anime, and older anime upscaled to 1440x1080.

I was asking about it's native production res and how it translates to blurays. I did mean to imply that you should go for 720p to make playback easier, though. Have you tried other players?

The Kodi video player is pretty fast actually

Also BS Player

Did you even read the OP? moron

>render
>mkv
Choose one. mkv's just a container used to store your video, audio, and subtitle streams. It'd be absolutely no different if you remuxed them to an mp4 container. What you're worried about is the h264 video stream.

My s7 edge with samsungs video player never stutters when playing h264 mkv

My iPhone 6S never stutters when playing video. Android is just shit.

ishit does not even support mkv so you can leave

Try mpv

Really?

My old z5 could do that using VLC. Nice bait.

downloading apps to get around something that does not work does not count

This

My s7 edge doesn't have this problem

My Moto X Play has no issues

Yea? like every phone
wtf can't run h264 in mkv container? My s5 has no issues.

>watching anime on a fucking phone

Dragon Maid was mastered at 955.5p, see
anibin.blogspot.com/2017/01/blog-post_1.html

I've never had a problem watching anything I've ever downloaded on a fucking moto E using VLC. What u doin wrong?

I used to have one of those. It's a nice cheap phone. But I shattered the screen : (

Yeah, my old S3 can.
wtf is wrong with you

Most phones have hardware acceleration for h264 and render 1080p without frame drops just fine.

If you're doesn't, it's probably a shit software problem or you just set it up wrong.

I'm not going to argue why you're watching anime on a phone, everyone's life is different and not everyone has time to watch anime at home, I can comprehend, but WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU WATCHING 1080p on a tiny tiny screen?
Download 480p, 480p is enough to for screen size.

*enough for that screen size

im using note 4 and had no problems running encoded h265 1080p(software rendering)
>inb4 re-encoded
yikes

I use solid explorer + vlc

Ah yes, another clueless weeb thread. Exactly what's needed.

if you're using MX player try older version sometimes they fuck up updating, I my self use older version and have no problem.

OP here.
Spotted a mistake in my post.
I meant to say Moto G4, not S8.
The S8 was the phone I’m considering for a purchase.
