Monitor

27" vs 24" inch 1080p?

Can someone with a 1080p 27" tell me if there's diarrhea on their screen or is it just internet nonesense extrapolations.

1080p on anything bigger than 22" looks like absolute shit

Bump, I just wanna know if it feels "stretched" like extra sharpness with icons, things look pixelated etc etc.

Dammit, can I use Nvidia DSR to downsample the 27" 1080p screen to 1440p and simuate that highe res experience? I've done it on my shitty old monitor and I guess I pretended its fine and it kinda worked.

1080p 27" is ok for gaming and movies, but is fucking terrible for work and internet navigation. In word you can't see shit because letters are not sharp at all and that bothers me a lot.
1080p 22" is perfect. Anything higher is shit.

An easy guide is this: only ever buy the maximum resolution offered by manufacturers at the specific size you are looking to buy.

you're fucking retarded

Don't do this. I got a 4k 28" and regret not getting 1440p at 28" instead.

OP, just buy a 1080p ultrawide if you're poor or 1440p ultrawide if you're not poor.

I guess it depends on viewing distance.

You obviously have eyesight issues if you do not enjoy the difference. Seek the advice of a qualified optician.

I got one and kinda wish i went 1440p

It is internet nonsense. I had the same dilema three months ago. I got two Dell P2719H 1080p screens and they are fine. I had two LG 23 inch 1080p screens before, and the difference in pixel density is very small. On the plus side, everything looks bigger.

It's true, I use 24" 1080p at work and it's fine (wouldn't mind to have 1440p on it), but some colleagues have 27" 1080p, it's shit, pixels are too big and noticeable, text is blurry, at 27" 1440p is must

Remember your full HD TV in the living room? It was probably bigger than 27".

4k 28" is too small for most people at 100% scaling, 32" is minimum for 4k

Go to the shop, see for yourself.

This, even my 14" ThinkPad is borderline.

>IPS
no input lag?

>1440p

Would I be able to utilize 144hz with a 1070 on that resolution?

>AUO 1440p 144hz panel
>what is sharpness issues

None that I can detect. I use a Vega 56 but honestly my RX 480 was fine too with lowered settings. FreeSync is amazing.

Only sharpness issue I have is with text in certain foreground/background colour combinations. It's kinda like ClearType is set incorrectly but I'm pretty sure it isn't.

How fucking close do you sit to your monitor? By my calculations, less than 4 inches.

they all have sharpness issues, and apparently no one gives any fucks to let you adjust sharpness

24 inches is the maximum size IMHO where 1080p is acceptable.
Anything larger than that should be at least 1440p.

It's honestly not that bad. The DPI is high enough that I tend to use 110% zoom in web browsers anyway and text is absolutely fine in most scenarios. I guess if it really bothered you, you could switch between Racing and FPS modes depending on whether you're playing games or working with text.

I just stick with Racing mode and colours are fantastic. The main issue with these panels is backlight bleed IMO, not sharpness, but fortunately I always use my PC in a well lit room so it doesn't affect me.

this. I've got 2048x1152 in my 23 incher and it's comfy as fuck.

Eh, not even just blb, its also glow.

I also use my stuff in a well lit room, like anyone should

you don't sit 40 cm from your TV screen do you?

>27" vs 24" inch
> "
> inch

OP the size doesn't matter as long as the DPI is ~100

I've been using an AOC G2770PF (27 inch, 1080P, 144FPS) for almost 2 years now, no issues to speak of. Also, Freesync is GOAT. Funnily enough, it looks exactly like in the OP picture

It depends on your viewing distance. I have an old 24" Samsung that runs at 1080p, it's completely fine but I sit about a good 2-3 feet away from it. The 1080p display on my 15.4" Thinkpad W520 is obviously a lot sharper, but I find viewability is not as good because you need to be so much closer to see the text at 100% scaling. I would imagine 27" would also be fine but you're probably going to get some noticeable blurriness, 1440p would be better.

>This, even my 14" ThinkPad is borderline
Everyone, autism given physical form.

This.
I have a 24" 1080p ultrasharp and I wouldn't go any bigger at this resolution.

>Would I be able to utilize 144hz with a 1070 on that resolution?
That would be pushing a bit. Expect to compromise on the settings. I have a 1070 and it's okay at 1080p for 144Hz. Some games I accept that I wont get over 120.

What's a good 27" 1440p monitor?
