wacom if you arent poorfag

By most accounts, ipad pro with apple pencil.

If you plan to use some pc software, then probably Wacom.

...

cintique

A regular wacom tablet is all you need. It keeps your posture upright and normal and your hands aren't in the way or smudging the screen unlike the hot garbage that is a Cintiq or a laptop screen. You'll quickly develop the hand eye coordination so that drawing on the tablet translates 100% to the screen without paying 2k dollars for a meme device.
You could check out Huion tablets but those are known for breaking easily but working well when they do.

I have a Wacom that i never used, i want to draw porn and niptoon stuff. What program do i learn?

Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool Sai, ...

I bought a Huion gt-220 for my girlfriend, did I fucked up Jow Forums?

dont listen to photoshop is trash compared to clip studio or krita

This.

Photoshop is the NPC art program not meant for drawing and bloated as fuck.

CSP is one for serious autists but still bloated.

Paint Tool Sai is the based and redpilled one, smaller than 5MB.
PSAI 2 beta is more bloated at roughly 7MB

Serious answer: intuos 3 from eBay. Dirt cheap, built to last, it is the thonkpad of tablets.

any crack for clip studio?

I think i'll try Clip Studio and bet on becoming a serious autist then. Thanks guys.

unironically a scanner.

drawing some thing with pencil or pen and scanning it in at super high res is >wacom or even the screen wacoms

and a good scanner costs like 10$.

No idea what the source is, just saved off a random thread.

Pen & paper

and if you want to work at scale larger than A4 you can get scanners that are like ultrasound and you just rub this camera reader brush thing over the area and it scans it. with that you can scan like a A1 that's like massive as fuck and literally wall size

Bought the Huion 1060 Plus for my wife for Christmas. She seems to enjoy it. Saw some good reviews on it.

On the hardware side -- at least ten years ago -- I was as satisfied with the cheapest chinese shit as I was with wacom tablets. On the driver side, this is different. After a few years, the chinese company ceased to exist, and even if they still would have existed, they still probably wouldn't have provided new drivers.
So I'd recommend wacom just because of driver support.
Also, in my experience, larger isn't necessarily better. A small tablet might may be more than enough for you. I have a ~A4 sized tablet and I use about

post work

unironically this

Photoshop is unironically the best software for painting. There is nothing as powerful out there. Corel Painter is also really good, but Krita and Clop Studio? Cmon..

Thankfully post was about drawing

Are the old intuos 3s on ebay still a decent choice? I have a small 4x6 one and was thinking of grabbing like a 6x11 or 9x12 since they're cheap as fuck (without the stylus). The stylus from my 4x6 (also intuos 3) should work fine right?

I need something for working on a 30" monitor the upscaling from 4x6 is a bit much lol. If only I could get one of the 12x19s though...

Huion Kamvas 13 for ultimate comfy.
Bought mine for around 300 bucks, worth every cent.
Nothing bad to say about this thing, colors aren't too accurate but that's a given at this price range.
I really love mine and it doubles as a comfy small secondary Full HD display.

Don't ask Jow Forums, ask /ic/. What tablet you buy very much depends on how serious/good an artist you are.

>Nothing bad to say about this thing, colors aren't too accurate but that's a given at this price range.
You should get a colorimeter and calibrate it

There is literally no difference between drawing an painting. Painting is just drawing with a brush.

i'm terrible at drawing so no kek

im very experienced in photo editing/ manipulation with it but drawing in it just doesn't feel right kek

oh well..

I have a huion h950p and it's better than my shitty old wacom, I'm really happy with it.

The tilt function is quite shitty, but I never use it.

>what rule? will i get banned now?
I think that guy is referring to the stuff he draws and considering he talked about breaking a global rule he most likely draws lolishit, furshit or pony faggotry.

>Buy Huion on sale because why not and need a bigger tablet
>It's actually ok
>It just works
>Nib still looks new after a year

the ipad

Yeah, i noticed that too.
I feel like Wacom nibs are designed to just die within a month so you have to buy more of their shit. Noticed this when I bought off brand chinky nibs for my original Wacom Intuos and they just didn't want to die, unlike the real Wacom nibs.
Same with my Huion, been using mine for 3 months and the nib looks like fresh out of the package.

the new actually battery-less (no, not rechargeable pens, no batteries at all) revamps are great too and they also improved the drawing surface.

Yeah it's a battery-less model I bought.
Another good thing with Huion is that you can get big tablets without being scammed

Painting is all about simplifying details into shapes that you can block out with a big brush and then work your way down. Drawing you generally start with contours and then fill in the tone and color. The way you work is different, it's definitely not the same. I think painting is generally a more cohesive experience because you end up dealing with color, tone, and shape/silhouette

Wacom textures all their shit now IIRC. You might get a better feel from it but maybe you won't notice at all

I like Photoshop and wacom; i have the large version but I think i would recommend the medium size for easier handling.

Attached: hmmm.png (1199x1199, 2.02M)

Huion H950P for a desktop tablet, or as the other user said get a Kanvas if you want a direct screen drawing tablet.

I like that picture m8.
Really nice use of those brushes.
Or maybe I like it because I have a thing for dark haired girls with thicc eyebrows and pixie haircuts.

Wrong. If you have really used both, you would know that SAI 2 have some small improvements that make it much better than SAI 1.

I didn't say PSAI 2 is worse, just said it's more bloated. 40% bigger

I recommend you Huion and Clip Studio Paint.

I'm too lazy to actually finish it before posting for attention
I struggle drawing faces enough as is to procrastinate the mouth for last on most portraits or faces.
i recommend the first generation Galaxy Book, pretty nice wacom device

Motion j3500

Wacom digitizer and a full blown windows machine.

Anything.
It's your about skill not your tool.

I draw on an Xp-Pen Deco 01 with Digimend drivers and Krita.
it works.

I asked the Digimend developer he says they recently implemented pen tilt support for the latest Huions too.

Attached: mirror_ass.jpg (599x848, 234K)

what does tilt support get you beyond pressure support?
t. just got my kid a huion tablet

little, it's a gimmick to play with.

I asked a bunch of different guys nobody seems to use those features a lot.

ideal women dont speak

Attached: well memed.png (1800x2700, 863K)

anything digital so you dont have to waste money on pen/pencils etc while you are learning and thus trash at drawing. buy a wacom board or something, preferably a good one not the 70$ one because those ones dont recognize pressure and angles. (personal experience)

>preferably a good one not the 70$ one
Which one are you talking about? Why wouldn't you recommend it?

i bought the wacom bamboo years ago cuz poorfag. wasted money tbqh because it doesnt recognize how much pressure your using nor the angles youare dragging the pen. so its very hard to create shades. id say if you really are into drawing to buy wacom intuos or whatever it is called or up from there dpepending how much richfag you are. wacom intuos doesnt have any of the problems (recognize the pressure i use and which angle im drawing) ive described and ive had it for like 4 years now

Either buy a $50 tablet with a passive pen and a decent drawing area, or drop $200 on one of these. It's the cheapest drawing tablet with a screen that's worth a damn and it's absolutely fantastic to work on. It's the same price as a middling Wacom, which are hilariously overpriced.

t. spent dozens of hours on a cheap tablet and couldn't get my brain to understand it

Attached: index(2).jpg (300x200, 14K)

I don't know first hand, but my brother went to an art school and does 3D modeling, and he uses a big Wacom tablet with a screen protector so it has more friction like paper. And he has an array of different nibs for the tip of the stylus

>because it doesnt recognize how much pressure your using

I'm pretty sure it is supposed to detect pressure.
If it doesn't something is wrong.

it does but not by much (the bamboo)

Ipad pro

Surface studio

/ic/ mods have a shit fit whenever we try to talk about drawing tablets on an art board.

wacom is like the apple fags and arch linux imbeciles here on Jow Forums

I myself have used nearly everything at least a few times, as I do digital-drawing as a hobby and professionally. Like I use linux ( ubuntu in my case ) and windows 10 pro. ( as windows 7 and below was total shit. )

My favorite digital-drawing screen tablet is:

XP-Pen & Monoprice. Both cheap, but on par to wacoms and cost nothing.

For none digital-drawing screens I use:

wacom and monoprice. ( Don't like xp-pen none screen drawing displays they feel off for some reason.

Don't pay more than $199 for a none digital-drawing screen, get as large as you can.

Don't pay more than $999 for a digital-drawing screen. Get no smaller than 15.6inch no larger than 24.

And yeah... /ic/ is shit for getting info on tablets.

Attached: PayyneVR.png (821x565, 611K)

>15.6inch
13 inch is perfectly fine.

Attached: 2203669-1-a.jpg (600x400, 42K)

I have a bamboo and it detects pressure, I have done some drawings with it, but it's too small and has few pressure levels.

Any Huion modern tablet is better than a cheap Wacom nowadays.

I got my GF a Wacom cintiq HD and the fucking cable is already shot a few months later, she doesn't even move the fucking thing! Ordering a new one with fingers crossed it isn't the port.

>/ic/ is shit for getting info on tablets.
what the fuck are you talking about, it's the same threads as this one, maybe with more wacom shilling but there's plenty of huion users as well.

Wacom have been suffering from horrible drivers issues. Huion are catching up to them very quickly especially given the significant price difference.

>wacom is like the apple fags and arch linux imbeciles here on Jow Forums

This.
Cheap wacom tablets are garbage, and the serious wacom tablets cost +300$ when an equivalent Xp-Pen or Huion Tablet costs 50-70$ and they are really good.

If you are going to use a tablet with linux check if it's supported by the DIGImend project.
I love working with Krita and it just runs better on Linux.
