Why do you like Gnome 3?

I don't like it, but making EVERYTHING work on tiling window managers is hard. Also, KDE is full of bugs.

>nordic

I don't like it, it's trash.

I don't, I like Ubuntu's Gnome.
Gnome 3 is a pain and hard to use, at least Ubuntu's familiar

Least buggy Wayland implementation of any DE or WM I've tried.

Thats pretty aesthetic. What's the problem?

>desktop
>can't put icons on it
is GNOME now just desk or top?

It uses less RAM than KDE. I'm pretty miserly with RAM.

>implying i do

It still has desktop icons if you want them.

Why would you want icons on your desktop? Do you enjoy minimizing windows just to launch programs?

no but I like to have files in an easy to access location as sort of temporary storage that I can get to with a key combination.

Call it an old habit from windows, but it works for me

That's what extensions are for. Only retards use vanilla gnome.

>muh empty desktop
If I wanted to stare at a picture I'd get a poster

Its really not. I use dwm and the only tweak I had to so was change the WM name envvar to ldm3 to make certain java applications not crap themselves. Everything else I just use floating or monocle mode.

I actively hate GNOME.

like it. designated industry standard.

It sucks balls
I am going back to xfce

most presentable DE that isnt deprecated or buggy

I don't. KDE is the best Linux desktop by a mile. IBMfags can suck it.

>he has to swipe to the top left to switch windows and applications and be sent to an entirely different interface like a fucking tablet toddler instead of clicking a button on a panel like GUI users have done for 40 years

>alt + tab/ alt + `
>press super key then app without moving mouse

>keyboard based DE
>complains about mouse inconveniences

>doesnt install extensions like dash to dock to taylor the DE to his liking
>probably complains about it being featureless

fuck off moron dont @ me

But the opposite is true in reality. GNOME has crap wayland support and IIRC they still lock the display at 60fps on wayland.

They're killing extensions in the Gnome rewrite.

It's not even planned or decided

It works ootb with minimal tweaks in its settings (like any DE should do in 2019)

Retarded devs that are trying to cull any customization and claim that the current customizability of tweak tools wasn't intended.

Because its tidy and consistent unlike every other WM I've tried. Everything is well proportioned, the system tray is clean and isn't filled with a clusterfuck of 10 different icon styles and sizes.

i don't

this is bait; right?

i like the window overview when you press super

Go to keyboard shortcuts in settings
Add custom shortcut with command "nautilus \folder\you\want"
Set whatever shortcut you want.
You are set for your favorite action with any folder you wanted for your "temporary storage"!

i literally just used it today on fedora 29
absolute fucking trash
going back to my dwm was like drinkng cold water after days in the sahara

That's a really nice wallpaper. Would you be able to share it?

A FUCKING FOOT

No i don't like s󠀀oy gnome.

I don't like DE.
All are shit, just use dwm

KDE is way more stable
KDE uses way less RAM. ~400 on boot on my machine with plasmoids running and a compositor. Kwin uses most of it, qt apps are light. Open gedit and nautilus and you're easily over 1gb.

>KDE is way more stable
Yes, so stable that everybody still argues which distro you should run it so it does not krash.
