Iktf, the night feels like my element but I have to get up at 5am.

I think there's something biological to this. I work nights at the ER sometimes (PA) and my best work gets done when I'm busy and fighting off sleep. It's almost like capacity for attention has diminished, but if I keep focused it just means I get distracted less often.

I've Pavlov'd myself into only putting my headphones on when I'm doing serious work (they're ATH-M50s, so it's almost like a hat). So I just pop those, usually with some coffee and maybe something to smoke, start my logged pomodoro timer in org-mode and get rollin'

I think I have chronic procrastination disorder A.K.A. massive career destroying ADHD Autism deluxe. So nothing. Nothing gets me in the flow. I get the flow for maybe half a minute and then it's over again. Without music it's too quiet and with music I just listen to the fucking music. It's like genetic Jesus doesn't want me to succeed with anything. The only thing that drives me is a rapidly closing deadline. The problem is this isn't affected by the size of my assignment. Meaning I can postpone working on a massive project until the last hours in which case I either half-ass my work or I deliver just after the deadline. It really sucks.
