This is the main reason why the 10xx series is still going for near MSRP. The RTX cards have been meh and the line as a whole is going to be a transition generation.
IMO the big upgrade moment will be when we get come juicy CPU wise. (or at least the final specs of the next PS/Xbox. Several big studios are bidding their time until that info gets locked down.)
